My elderly aunt is trying to find a book she read in the last several years. Here is the basic synopsis:
A wealthy couple are involved in an accident that leaves the man handicapped before they can have a child. He selects an ex-football player to be a 'substitute' father. He sends his wife to the other man, and she returns refusing to have relations with him. The husband sends her again several times and they are intimate. Long story short, the wife and ex-football player fall in love and she becomes pregnant. The wealthy husband uses the baby to control his wife and plots to murder the ex-football player.
