I once read a book about a boy and his uncle(i believe!),who went to Venus and they stayed there for a while getting to know and understand the venusians.In the end they leave but his friend clings to the ship and dies in transit.Sad ending but great book.Some details are sketchy.Read it 67-70 in school library.
