Hi, Although I've been around for some years I never really used LibraryThing as it was limited to 200 books. However I saw the offer to import my Shelfari library (nearly 3000 books) to be upgraded... and did so.
Unfortunately, the import seems to have happened twice so I have all my books showing two times, with a total library of nearly 6000. Is this a bug that will solve itself, or should I delete everything and re-import?

Duplicates tend to happen when people get a bit trigger-happy with the import because it's not instant but queued with other people's requests, and didn't select the option NOT to import duplicates.
It's not a bug. They won't go away on their own.
Stuff you might find useful on the "Your books" page :
• The twin blue arrows icon to sort by entry date going up to have your last entries first
• The Power Edit mode to work on pages/batches of 100 books (lightning icon)
• The "Delete books" tab in that mode
• The "Select books on page" button
• The "Delete selected books" button
Delete as many pages as will remove most of your extra import (like maybe 2900 out of 2972), be more careful and make sure you're displaying the time stamps so you can check individual books rather than the whole page when you come to a page of mixed results.
Otherwise wiping and reimporting (once, and giving it some time) might be best, if you have no significant extra work done on the already imported books.
