FREQUENTLY
UNASKED QUESTIONS (FUQ)

This file is of course a work-in-failure where we shall strive to treat the most important questions so frequently unasked.

Feel free to suggest {elsewhere} additions to the file. As long as the questions are those which are frequently never asked, they're likely to be included here.

Please consult the file before recommending additions. Your recommendation may have already been FUQed here.

Comprehensive List :

1) "Should I specialize or be a generalist?"

2) " It appears that members join by invitation. In that case, (just supposing for the sake of argument, of course) if I was interested, how do I get myself invited? "

===============================

1) "Should I specialize or be a generalist?"

This is a question of preference. I try to avoid telling people what they should do. You should take the course you find most compatible. Many young bigots suppose that a specialization is easier. This is often merely their inexperience speaking. With experience, most find that they are quite capable of polybigotry. However, there is nothing wrong with starting modestly and focusing your bigotry. Later, if you like, you may experiment or simply find that your taste for toleration narrows naturally and effortlessly.

There's the well-known bigot's adage: "Specialists specialize." Simply put, people who are highly specialized already have a head-start on the generalists among us. I know some highly specialized bigots who won't give the time of day to their generalist fellows. I deplore that lack of collegiality.

2) " It appears that members join by invitation. In that case, (just supposing for the sake of argument, of course) if I was interested, how do I get myself invited? "

Thank you. It appears that many people have this among their unasked questions.

It isn't difficult to wangle an invitation, despite what some may have supposed. Simply post a message on my profile page's message board indicating your interest. Most people can be invited quickly --without even a background check or a urine sample submission. In short, it's easier than getting hired at Jack in the Box™ .
