I'm looking for a specific quote from the historian Herodotus, the quote is about not being able to judge whether a life was good or not until that life is over. Does anyone know this quote? I can't seem to find it no matter how I google for it.

Is this it?

"One should always look to the end of everything, how it will finally come out. For the god has shown blessedness to many only to overturn them utterly in the end. "

That was not it, but that site led me to another site which led me to another, where I found what I wanted!

The quote I wanted was "Call no man happy till he is dead."

Thanks AA!

Thank you Larxol, that was precisely the passage I was looking for. Now I've managed to locate it in my copy of Herodotus so I can take it with me and use it today. Thanks again!
