Ive read 2 books so far

Call The Midwife my own
A young nurses accounts of what it was like working in the East End of London in the 1950's. An enjoyable eye-opening read. I loved reading the accounts of how things were and it makes you appreciate how well things are now and we really have nothing to complain about. The conditions in which these families were living were actually awful but they had to make do and got on with it. The birth rate was absolutely huge as well with women having up to 25 babies - my goodness! Thank goodness for contraception. Also the fact that babies are living when being born prematurely and the maternal death rate has decreased dramatically. Reading of how things were for the nurses/midwives was very interesting. They had a huge workload and Jenny seemed very devoted.
Overall a great insight and its definitely worth reading.

This is quite low down on my TBR's but I wanted a quick read as I'm going on holiday soon and have a whole set of books to take with me but wanted to start them whilst I was away!
I liked this book. It was very easy to get into, and I lost myself within it. I enjoyed the rather simple language, what it was about, the characters and the feel of the book in general.

Now on to Woman walks into a bar caught Dec 2016
http://www.bookcrossing.com/mybookshelf/Nataliec7/toberead?page=5

A good quick read. We meet Sam, single mother to 12 year old Beth. She been single for 9 years since she split from her abusive partner and her daughter has persuaded her it time to find love. Although reluctant initially she decided to go on a few dates.
In this small book, you get to understand Sam's life, her friends and family. She seems like a nice woman who without some encouragement would be single forever. A nice read.

I reread it a few years ago when I joined an online group that was reading all of Hardy's fiction and I was surprised that I remembered so much of it. And I liked it again.
