Lets see what happens ~ habits die hard :)
I'll probably keep adding books, and reviewing a few. I'm not doing anything fancy, not even counting these days. I'm sure I make it over 75, but whatever. I'm just here for now..
What a beautiful new baby pics! Congrats to all! Hope we see more of you around the threads this year.
Oh, Kathleen!! What a beautiful granddaughter you have! And such a pretty name, too. Thanks so much for sharing her - she was born on Craig's birthday. Congratulations, dear one. Hugs to you!
>2 mckait: She is a beauty, Kath. Congrats and hapoy new year. Enjoy your time with your lovely granddaughter.
>2 mckait: Seen them on FB but cannot get tired of looking upon such a gorgeous little 'un! xx
Lovely to see you back dear lady. You must be apprised that Gail is also with us this year so keeping up is good again. xx
I am part of the group.
I love being part of the group.
I love the friendships bestowed upon my by dint of my membership of this wonderful fellowship.
I love that race and creed and gender and age and sexuality and nationality make absolutely no difference to our being a valued member of the group.
Thank you for also being part of the group.
Awwwww! Just found your thread, and what a sweet grandchild you have!!!!! Congratulations and best wishes!
Welcome to the world, Drew Charlotte! Wow, a month old Thursday.
So glad to see you back here, Kath.
>1 mckait: I've been enjoying your photos on FB. What a darling she is!
Good to see you back here, too, Kath!
Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by! I hope to be able to participate a bit this year.
I would like each picture to be smaller, but I don't remember how to make it so, and photobucket was not being cooperative. :( Any tips? I did go to the helpful thread, but came away saying . . . um, what?
Maybe this might help, Kath. img width="200"src="picture image code goes here">
You'd add a less than sign before the img.
>17 mckait: You haven't been absent that long, Kath, have you?! xx
Lynda's directions should work.
I'm very happy to see you here! You can't even imagine...
And I never tire of seeing Beautiful Baby Drew. But never.
>18 Carmenere: Thanks Lynda... Now how do I get the code from the pics I put in my gallery. I never used that. I just resized at photobucket and posted the html from there. But these days, that site is even more of a nightmare than it was previously. grr
>19 PaulCranswick: it feels long. :P
>20 bohemima: xo
>21 ChelleBearss:, Chelle, how old is your little one, now? Are there pics? I lost you somehow on fb. . .
>22 mckait: I checked and we are still FB friends! Maybe you unfollowed me? A few pics on my thread of Chloe on my thread. She is almost 3 (in May)
>23 ChelleBearss:. I'm sure I didn't but you know how fb is.. I will have to seek you out and like a few posts again. It lets people drift out of sight if you don't. Off to look :)
Happy New Year, Kath!
I sense that you like that Drew Charlotte a little bit. :-)
Thanks for visiting and hugs to all... I will try to get into the swing of reply individually again soon!
>22 mckait: Ok, Kath, try this. Right click on your pic in gallery and a drop down menu appears. About 5 or 6 down you'll see "copy image address". Click on that (it actually copies the code) and paste it to the equation I gave you at >18 Carmenere:.
Here's one from my gallery at width 100
Hope that helps you out :0)
nope. Still doing something wrong
Clearly Drew's pics are meant to be big.
Re Drew... anyone that cute can handle close-ups!
Have a good day!
Hiya, Kath. I pm'd you my two cents about shrinking pics. Wish I lived down the street so I could come over and show you.
Hope you're having a good weekend.
It is wonderful to have you and Caro and Cee and Gail back this year, Kath......I was running out of friends!
>43 PaulCranswick: hah! As if . . .
Say hi to Hani for me :) it always makes me smile to see her at FB.
>44 mckait: I am going back from the office shortly to see what she has cooked up for me. Erni on holiday makes our home a tad combustible.
>50 TheWorstOffender: Thank you Jude. That's very kind of you. I really glad, too. I didn't think I would have grandchildren.
Hi Prue :) She is, rather magnificent isn't she :) Thank you for mentioning it ! LOL
Nice to see you here.. I need to find your thread.
Hi Kath! I saw you on Berly's thread and immediately had to come here! It's good to see you back.
As I mentioned, I'm not keeping track of my reading. I'm reading at about the same pace as before. I basically read nothing in December, as it was a happy, busy, but challenging month for me. Still, I typically read less in December. I have read a lot of urban fantasy and some odds and ends. I am also reading David Rosenfelt, and not to alarm anyone, but I'm not reading them in order. These days most of my books have been coming from the library e-book collection. With the Andy Carpenter books, I just read them willy nilly as I find them. It works fine.
have been on my radar, and I have read their books as well. Of course Patricia Briggs Thanks to Mamie. These books I have read in order.
Speaking of "in order" this site can be helpful with that:
Glad that you are enjoying your reading time and not worrying about tracking! Hugs to the grand babe!
No, no. I will not click on any blue words tonight. Already feeling overloaded.
So I got an ER book today Who Wrote "The Night Before Christmas?" kinda late. I don't really care who wrote it, but was hoping this would come around Christmas and get me in a better holiday mood.
At least it's a thin book. I really wanted the other book I requested, but no. So, there you have it.
Interesting weekend coming up... good, I hope.
Kath--Just checking up on things here. Glad to see reading is happening, in any order, and I love Patricia Briggs, so all seems well here. Hugs. : )
>57 ChelleBearss: Thank you Chelle ! Hope you're feeling well!
>58 -Cee-: Thought about you all weekend.. I need an update!
>59 tymfos: Snuggle that beautiful boy for me, please?
>60 Berly: Hi Kimmy. I'm currently reading my way through the Andy Carpenter series as escape reading, my current status quo :P
They're good mysteries, formulaic, but the main character is amusing and I lol here and there. So, all good here.
I hope all is well with all of you folks :)
Hey, Darlin'. Just checking in to see how things are going. Surprised that you aren't keeping track...it's one of the (hundreds) of things I'm obsessive about.
We will get through this.
It'll be 3 years this Saturday since Sig came into our lives. He's starting to be willing to sit on my lap for a few minutes, especially in the rocking chair. But he's definitely not a lap cat. He's an adventurous one, as you can see.
>61 mckait: The weekend turned out good - surprisingly and thank the Goddess! I'll let you know about it... nothing dramatic though :-)
Isn't it time for another Drew picture???!???
>63 tymfos: I can't believe it, Terri! Are you sure it's been 3 years? My Woolly was not cuddly or a lap cat for several years herself. I didn't think she ever would be. But eventually she realized how warm and comfy laps are - which led to my being lap-locked excessively, but I never minded it. Missing it now. I would say give Sig more time... after all, he is a busy boy!
New grandbaby, I can see why you didn't read much in December! She's beautiful.
>62 bohemima: adding to library, but not counting at all. Freeing!
>63 tymfos: Three years, that's hard to believe!
>64 -Cee-: It was good to hear the good news about the weekend. Hopefully, it will get even better!
> 65 I agree. Sig is a baby, still and energetic. One day it will probably happen... you'll see Terri :)
>66 cammykitty: IKR? I have been able to face Time and look at pictures that come every day. I can't believe how much she has changed just since I posted a few weeks ago!
Still reading David Rosenfelt but I already had an unread book by Patricia Briggs on my kindle to read next, when I read this :
Official Patricia Briggs

It is with a very heavy heart that I write of the passing of one of the finest men I have ever known. Mike Briggs passed away early this morning, very unexpectedly. We are all deeply in shock and grieving. Things on the web page and Facebook will likely be a bit neglected while we sort things out and make all the necessary arrangements. Please understand if we can't reply to messages or inquiries right away. If you would like to send Patty and her family a condolence card, our address is P.O. Box 5394, Benton City, WA, 99320. Mike was simply just an awesome and amazing man; we will miss him every day for the rest of our lives. The Purple Avenger will be doing his good works in heaven;I will strive to live up to the example and high standards that he set. -Ann
This makes me very sad. Mike was fun and he clearly loved Patty...It took my breath away to read this.
Hi Kath--Thanks for sharing that news, sad though it is. Hugs to you, too.
Hi Kath! Just a quick stop in to hope that you're doing well. Hugs to you!
When I try to open the pictures in an other window I get some kind of acces denial :-(
So, Kath! What's up?
I finally read The Lace Reader! I am still pondering the ending. Veeeerrryyy interesting twist. I think you were one of those that recommended it to me a long time ago. I think I will go visit Salem one of these times I drive by going to CT. I've been looking at new cars, but a broom might be just the ticket!
Thanks for the bump Breezy and Cee!
All is basically well, aside from the country falling apart. Not much reading going on right no. VERY busy doing this and that and also nothing. Hope all is well with everyone who has been or will be here :)
Yes, the country is falling apart. Sigh. Drat the Republican Regime!
I'm glad things are basically going well for you, personally. This and that and nothing sound great.
Kath--Just checking for life here...nope not today. Someday??? I hope!! Miss you. xoxo
Oh, I am soooooo glad to find your thread. I think of you often!
>2 mckait: What a precious little life!
>82 karenmarie: Drat? You are being so kind, LOL
>83 Berly: ((Kimmy!!! ))
>84 DianaNL: Happy Saturday/caturday :)
>85 jnwelch: Joe sightings are always so sweet :)
>86 BBGirl55: Thanks for popping Bryony :)
>87 Berly: I'm trying to get back into the habit, my friend.
>88 Whisper1: *waves* Hi Linda :)
>89 karenmarie: Nice to see you Karen :)
So, I keep trying to stop by and post. Hope I get better at it, I miss so many people here at LT.
I am currently in MD for March, taking care of my baby Drew. It has its complications, but never mind, because Drew. I will try to do something about posting pictures. She has changed a lot. The most recent pic is on my profile, I think?
I miss my kitties, but Lola is here with me.
Hope all is well with all of my LT buddies... I will keep trying to pop in and do some reading.
Big hugs all around.
Hi Kath!! Wow. A month long stay-cation. I hope all is well and that you have a wonderful time with Drew and his parents. And that you get time to read. ; ) Sending lots of hugs.
Baby snuggles are always to be encouraged. Good to see you posting, Kath. xx
Thinking of you! A facebook post popped up regarding your great assistance when I was in Thomas Jefferson hospital awaiting the second surprise surgery. I thank you again for keeping people in touch with each other. You are a dear, dear soul.
I agree with those words from dear Linda above. Have a great Sunday.
Kath--Do you realize you haven't posted since March?! Hope all is well. Missing you!
Kimmy.... nope. I did not realize that. Wow! Time flies, eh? I thought I had you on my fb list, but didn't see you ! ( Can you find me on FB? Are you still on there?)
I posted a new pic of Drew on my profile page. I lost a lot of pics with photobucket's shenanigans.
Oh you faithful folks! I do see some of you all on fb... I'm sorry that I've been away so long. I don't know what to say. For one thing the state of the world has gotten me down. I travel to see my baby as often as I can, and otherwise? I read, I try to remember to list them and rate them here.
I do miss so many people! Maybe I'll do better next year? I will try to pop in and read a few threads soon...
please take care of yourself...
>118 mckait: Lovely to see you post Kath. I have missed you loads.
Ditto, Kath. You know, hanging out on LT can be a pretty good respite when the real world is getting you down. :-)
Happy to see you visiting here, Kath! I see you on FB and glad you get to see your baby often!
I know that quite a few of our dear LT friends do a lot on FB, but alas! I'm not one of them. I'm a liker and a lurker but am even doing that less and less.
So seeing you here on LT is good. The world is a very scary and depressing place right now, so I can understand your laying low.
A Kath sighting!!! Whoohoo! I will try to find you on FB...
Big hugs. : )
Hey all... Thank you so much for your ongoing kindness in visiting my neglected thread :)
Maybe I should mend my ways, and spend more time here than on fb. It can get nasty over there.
Anyway, Hi to Kimmy, Joanne, Joe, rd, paul, Cheri, Karen and Chelle. . . I hope all is well... and that life is being kind.....
I'll try to pop in again soon
Hi Kath! Nice to see you.
I have never posted on FB, but I've been a liker, a lurker, and an occasional replier. Even that has palled and I can't remember the last time I was over there. Possibly two weeks ago?
I hope you're doing well.
Hey! Quit hiding and come out and play! I saw you here and on R's thread. Hope it's a trend. : )
Agh! I made a post here the other day, and it disappeared!
Sig says hello to "Auntie Kath"
Hi Karen! I'm trying to get back in the LT habit. It's kind of ugly out there in the world~
Mamie! miss seeing your posts, and I wonder about your family :) Hope all is well!
I'm trying, honest. Trying to form a new habit, or re-form and old one :)
HA! At the end of the night two young teenagers strolled over to get a treat. My bowl had a few bags of chips and about 40 of those teeny little candy bites they sell these days. I dumped it all in their bags... they were so dumbfounded! LOL
Your litttles are so cute!
Oh, sweet Sig! He is utterly beautiful~ Thank you for the picture :) I love him and you, for taking him into your family.
Look at you posting again so soon!! Good work!
We are all well, Sis. Rae recently got aqua stripes in her hair, which she LOVES. Doesn't she look fabulous?
Kath!!! A string of posts from you and all in one day! Are you back? Truly? That would make me so happy. : )
>144 Berly: What Kimmers said, Kath. I have missed your caring presence. xx
I think of you often, Paul. I see sweet Hani posting on my grandbaby's pics now and then. I do miss my LT folks. Hope all is well with you !
So, I am way behind putting my books into my library. I'm not sure I'll ever really catch up. And in other news, I can't find a book. Book slump in progress.. booo!
I added a new pic of Drew to my library. I lost my photobucket account, because I am not paying 400$ to host some pictures. I don't know how else to put them here.. any suggestions?
Anyway, my sweet girl is 11 months today.
>150 mckait: Kath, you can just upload them into your LT photo gallery as you've done, and then post from there. That's the way I do it. I haven't figured out how to do it from a tablet, but when I post from my computer, it works fine.
Once it's in your photo gallery on LT, copy the image address and then post with img src= and the image address, inside a set of the pointy brackets.
(photobucket charges $400 to host photos? Sheesh!)
Thank you Terri! I'll give it a try, maybe tomorrow..
I've been wondering about your son and your kitty :)
LOL, Thanks Mamie... I miss her desperately... I haven't seen her for a month. le sigh.
Do you realize that it's almost Thanksgiving?!?! yikes.
>153 mckait: You're welcome, Kath! Son is studying computer programming at community college. Kitty, well, what can I say? He rules the house.
Where did this year go? Almost Thanksgiving, and the end of the year is in sight . . . (sigh)
This is a time of year when I as a non-American ponder over what I am thankful for.
I am thankful for this group and its ability to keep me sane during topsy-turvy times.
I am thankful that you are part of this group.
I am thankful for this opportunity to say thank you.
On this day of Thanksgiving, I am grateful for many things, one of them being my wonderful
Wow, college... time is speeding right by, isn't it? Kittys are meant to rule the house, so that's about right.
I'm getting ready to go to Drew's first birthday party! I can't believe that a year has passed already...
Oh Paul, everyone here is richer for knowing you. I am thankful for my friends here as well, a group that emphatically includes you !
It is wonderful to see your posts! I send all good wishes for a blessed holiday. Your grand baby is simply adorable!
Kath: You need to read this book!
BTW, the caption for the cover photo is "Life is more fun with a partner in crime."
Today we were channel surfing and came upon a program called Meow Manor on some channel I never heard of, UP TV. Three kittens, litter mates, in a house scaled to kitten size, and all their antics. Sig was fascinated -- he never paid attention to TV before, even when we watched the Kitten Bowl. He jumped up on the TV stand and tried to interact with the kittens. Maybe it's time to get him a friend?
Thanks Terri. It looks like I can tune in as of 12/16. We'll see if my kitties like it :)
Thank you for the book rec. I will hunt it down.
I just came back from Drew's birthday party...it was nice. They have good friends. Downside, on of the 6 little ones invited was afraid of dogs. So Lola and my daughters dogs Sloan and Steve had to be shut in rooms. Lola has never been shut in anyway since she was rescued. She barked for 3 hours. . . unless someone was taking a turn being in with her. I finally took a few of the other kids into the room and we hung out petting her, and in one boys case lying on top of her proclaiming his love! lol. Nice young man.
So good to see you I often wonder what you are up to and how life is treating you :)
Hi Kath!! Glad you got to help Drew celebrate. : ) Loving your photos on FB. AND I get to see you here, too. Awesome.
>165 tymfos: Here's another excellent kitty-related book. My copy was a gift from friend Karen in Montana. *smile*
Stopping by to wish you and yours all good things this holiday season.
It is that time of year again, between Solstice and Christmas, just after Hanukkah, when our thoughts turn to wishing each other well in whatever language or image is meaningful to the recipient. So, whether I wish you Happy Solstice or Merry Christmas, know that what I really wish you, and for you, is this:
Merry Christmas my friend! Hoping every goodness finds you and all your family today :-)
