I wanted to share the totally useless piece of information that this Friday, 7 December 2007, is the equinox on the planet Uranus. Since we're heading for maximum insolation (i.e. "summer") on the conventionally denominated "northern" hemisphere, I guess it's technically the "spring" equinox. Earthbound astronomers get to view the planet's ring-system edge-on.
So it's time for all you interplanetary-minded earthlings to break out a phial of argleflux (or your local equivalent) and drink to the coming of Uranian spring: it won't happen again for 84 years!
