Ugh! To me those walls looks so generic... bleh! As if they just threw books and said "Oh yeah, that's going to look academic!" :/
I'm sure if I was there I'd be admiring the books, but it just seems to devoid of creativity... my opinion, of course.

I spotted some EP books on Saturday Night Live awhile ago. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=H9UkjPF5X6o (a little past the two minute mark). I've met TV set designers in the NYC area at estate sales, so I wonder if that's where they picked these up.
