What did you make of the prologue?

The prologue piqued my interest as the way Stoddard has come to a decision that he must go help someone, who I assume now must be Consuela.

At first I didn't understand it at all. After rereading it I feel like he's made his decision to go help Consuela in some way. It seems to be months after her arrest so I suppose we'll slowly learn the story.

I found the prologue all I'd hoped for: full of intrigue, mystery and promise.

What an artist Goddard is; what a picture he paints.

I found parts of this very interesting...however maybe it was just that I had a tiring day that I found the reading very slow going for some reason and I had to go back and reread since I had not understood or remembered what I had read from one paragraph to another. Hope today is better. I think it's going to be an interesting story once I can get my head around it.

So, I'm days and days behind. : (
The prologue was intriguing and I found myself reading it 2-3 times to try to get some kind of handle about what was happening.
Love Goddard's writing!

>12 Goddard has such an intelligent use of words - I just drink them in.

>12 you and are are probably going to finish around the same time. I've been very behind on this read and am only now completing the 3rd section

>16. I am hoping to finish section 3 today. No digital or audio edition has made this a tough book for me to read. I only have a heavy print copy that's not portable and have had minimal time when home to sit and read lately. :(.
I'm not fond of reading on an iphone, but it certainly helps me keep up with the group reads.
