If I go to a series page, I can easily see which book in the series I own, but not which books I haven't yet read, which I have most recently reread, or which I have rated and reviewed. It would be interesting to be able to open my books in the series in my catalogue so that I can access that information easily.

Hm. Can't you view in catalog from the series page? From there you should be able to tell when or if you've read something if you tag, use dates or organize them into collections to indicate that. Would that work?

What does "view in catalog from the series page" mean? Do you mean view the Series in the catalog? I couldn't find that option.

No, I don't think you can. What's desired (I'd like it too!) is an item analogous to the one on an author page that says "You have 33 books and 33 works by James Branch Cabell," and allows you to click through to your catalog view listing those books. It seems like it should be relatively easy to implement a "You have 17 books and 17 works in the series Biography of the Life of Manuel," with that sort of link.

Whoops. Bah. It's what Paradox said...view books from an author in catalog.

Agree w/MJ that this would be a nice function from the series page since sometimes an author can have more than one series.

Or a series can have several authors.

True. I wonder how many years we will pine for this?

>7 Bookmarque: Years? No, it will be just "two weeks."

Is this basically what https://www.librarything.com/profile/MEMBERNAME/stats/series does...sort of. It's not telling you read dates; but it's telling you read/not read, owned/not owned.

I've found the easiest (not that easy) is to re-create the series information as tags in your catalogue. It's annoying to retrofit, but fairly easy thereafter. Sort order in important, so you need to have the series tag 1st (or 2nd after an author tag). But this means you'd have to manually add in wishlist titles for the rest of the series.

I do like the suggestion at >4 paradoxosalpha:

Eh, not really. Catalog view would provide not only read dates, but any other fields that you've set up in your catalog view. It could give you your own selected covers, your own reviews, comments, pages, whatever--and for a single series.

https://www.librarything.com/profile/MEMBERNAME/stats/series is better than a sharp stick in the eye, but it hardly tells you anything about a given series, other than the fact that it's in your library. If you want to know about books in the series not in your catalog, you need to look at the series page. If you want to know anything beyond the "checkmark" level about series books in your library, you need to go to your catalog.

>9 lesmel: No, it tells me that I've entered it, and maybe an idea of which collections I've added it to, just like the individual series page.If I want to know about an individual series, I get more information off the page for that series. But I still have to open each book for more information.

In fact, that page is so cluttered up with series that don't interest me, and doesn't include series that do that are on the German site, so that I don't bother with it.
