I've kind of been thinking maybe some newcomers to our group do not know what HEG stands for. It's a term that we use often, and rather than anyone feeling shy about asking, why not tell them?

Would the next poster on this thread like to say? And then after that, perhaps some of you would like to find some examples.

Jan 7, 2008, 1:37pm Top

HEG's where do I begin to explain about HEG's.

Hot English Guys.

They are Hot. English and male.

It doesn't get better than that, my friends.

Henry Cavill: I know he looks a little sinister and silly with those pants but look into the eyes ladies... mmmm

Jan 7, 2008, 2:28pm Top

Great googly moogly. Now that there is a perty perty man.

Jan 7, 2008, 3:32pm Top

LOL! Funny pants!

Jan 7, 2008, 6:50pm Top

How about this lovely fellow?

Jan 7, 2008, 7:03pm Top

Gez, I thought if anything would help tease the GD about post count, it would be a thread devoted to HEGs! Was I wrong? ;)

Jan 7, 2008, 7:18pm Top

#5-That reminds me, I need a new chest of drawers. Something to keep my clothes in. :oD

Jan 7, 2008, 8:55pm Top

Sorry but nothing looks better on him than long hair and elf ears.
Hubba Hubba

Jan 7, 2008, 10:08pm Top

i cant post pictures but jhony depp :P

Jan 7, 2008, 11:59pm Top

Wow. That's all I can say.
We obviously have too much time on our hands.

Jan 8, 2008, 12:01am Top

Once and for all, Johnny's not a HEG. But he is awesome.

In the meantime, an actual HEG.

Jan 8, 2008, 12:02am Top

Jan 8, 2008, 12:02am Top

No offense lg...

Jan 8, 2008, 12:04am Top

OK, then, how about...

Jan 8, 2008, 12:06am Top

I know some people don't get the Daniel Craig thing.

Here's someone about whom we can all agree, n'est-ce pas?

Jan 8, 2008, 12:06am Top

(I'm female, by the way. Sorry for not telling you all sooner.)

Better...those look like elf ears though. Who is he?

Jan 8, 2008, 12:07am Top

Sorry, #16 in referance to #14.
lg, your HEGs all have mussed hair...

Jan 8, 2008, 12:08am Top

Do you mean Jude Law?

OK, I'm getting tired. suge will take over at some point. Well, ok, this one is for suge, but that's it!

Jan 8, 2008, 12:10am Top

I have no idea who any of these men are lg...so I have no clue!
I know #18 is Rober Pattison though! (ask me how I figured that one out! just kidding.)

Jan 8, 2008, 12:10am Top

messed hair...I guess I like 'em that way.

btw, these HEG's are doing wonders for my cold.

Jan 8, 2008, 12:11am Top

Okay, it must be done.

Jan 8, 2008, 12:13am Top

Here's one that I know a lot of people appreciate:

Jan 8, 2008, 12:13am Top

He's a little...IS THAT ALAN RICKMAN!?!?!

Jan 8, 2008, 12:14am Top

#23 was in response to #21, not #22.
Is that the guy that plays Samwise in LoTR?

Jan 8, 2008, 12:14am Top

LOL! A little what?

Jan 8, 2008, 12:14am Top

5-Orlando Bloom
11-Daniel Craig
14 Jude Law
15 Clive Owen
20 Gary Oldman

And just to keep it Harry-ish, here's a Weasley. (I dare you to find a picture with his hair combed!)

OK, I'm going to bed now!

Jan 8, 2008, 12:15am Top

I was going to say, "a little stiff", but then I realized it was Snape!

Edited: Jan 8, 2008, 12:17am Top

A-R are you SURE you're a girl? How can you not know Colin Firth when you see him?

Sorry, never mind.

Jan 8, 2008, 12:16am Top

#22 is Colin Firth, who played Mr. Darcy in the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice. I'm not a rabid fan, but I'm pretty sure there are some around here somewhere.

Jan 8, 2008, 12:16am Top

Well lg, his hair's messed up...he's yours!
Not to say I don't like guys with bad hair days.

Jan 8, 2008, 12:17am Top

lg, I'm female through and through...trust me. I just don't get out much. Make that, I don't watch TV, and hardly any movies, so my HEG exposure has been severely limited.

Jan 8, 2008, 12:19am Top

I'm laughing like crazy over this thread! What fun! Who else can we post?

Jan 8, 2008, 12:20am Top

I kid you not, that looks like a ski coach I know...
who is that?

Jan 8, 2008, 12:20am Top

#24 they guy who plays sam in LotR is not english. I know his mom. he is also a redhead.

Edited: Jan 8, 2008, 12:21am Top

I really am going to bed, but not before posting a couple of Hughs.

Jan 8, 2008, 12:21am Top

#33 how could you not know?

Jan 8, 2008, 12:23am Top

hint, he's another hugh.

Sean Astin's mom in Patty Duke. You know Patty Duke!!???!!

Jan 8, 2008, 12:23am Top

I told you...I'm so seriously disconnected from the world...
You have no idea how many people at school used to tease me about this. And people still do a lot.

Jan 8, 2008, 12:23am Top

Oh, I've heard of Patty Duke...she played in some Broadway musicals, right?

Jan 8, 2008, 12:24am Top

Sorry, A-R, didn't mean to put you down. It's just surprising. #33 is Hugh Grant.

I still can't believe rissa knows Patty Duke. The woman is a genius.

Jan 8, 2008, 12:26am Top

Patty Duke is, sigh, a great actress. She got famous as a child actor playing the part of Helen Keller in The Miracle Worker. Later, she played the Annie Sullivan part.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, google it. And then rent the movie.

Jan 8, 2008, 12:27am Top

It's fine lg...I really don't care.

"Sticks and stones
may break my bones
but words
will never hurt me."

I live by that.

Jan 8, 2008, 12:27am Top

yes, I know Patty Duke. my older sister and Reena have even been in a play with her. (she thinks I'm tall, I know random, but she called me tall the last time I saw her and most people call me short.)

Jan 8, 2008, 12:27am Top

I will have to rent the movie...I'm interested now.

Jan 8, 2008, 12:28am Top

what play rissa?

Jan 8, 2008, 12:29am Top

Jan 8, 2008, 12:29am Top

Wow....you were in a play with Patty F-ing Duke. Wow. I'm totally squeeing.

Have you ever met Sean?

Jan 8, 2008, 12:30am Top

It's sad how much crap he gets from his role in the LoTR.

Jan 8, 2008, 12:31am Top

So, A-R do you like the HEG's so far?

Jan 8, 2008, 12:31am Top

What crap? I thought he was brilliant!

Edited: Jan 8, 2008, 12:59am Top

I think she means all of the Frodo/Sam stuff. It always makes me laugh, because in the books, Sam is one of three characters who actually gets the girl!

(The other two being Aragorn and Faramir, in case anyone was wondering.)

Edited to add, I thought his acting was brilliant, as well. But I can't really think of an example of bad acting in the LotR films.

Jan 8, 2008, 12:35am Top

Well, Elijah is pretty cute....(I'm kidding!)

Jan 8, 2008, 12:35am Top

*giggle* Hey, he's not English, is he? Drat! Time for a thread on hot guys of other nationalities!

Jan 8, 2008, 7:52am Top

HEG's...that's easy. Hot Earth Guys, now everyone is welcome. But I do admit myself that I think that accent is darn sexy.
Elijah is not English, but he plays one..so can we do HFEG's?
Hot Fake English Guys.

Edited: Jan 8, 2008, 10:21am Top

A_R, I don't know who a lot of them are without being told, either. I don't know names of actors/actresses much at all because I watch much tv or that many movies. Instead I'll say something like 'remember that guy from the movie _____ who played _____ - he's in this movie, too!' (Or in the case of animated movies, 'that's his voice playing _____!')

Jan 8, 2008, 10:22am Top

#55 -- I'm usually the same way. Hanging around HE has contributed to my education, as far as actor names go.

Jan 8, 2008, 10:26am Top

It's helped me with names, too. I remember when I asked suge who Henry Cavill was. Can you imagine her reaction? ;)

Jan 8, 2008, 10:31am Top

hehehe :-)

Jan 9, 2008, 7:19pm Top

#35 - LG, I hate to point out that Hugh Jackman isn't one of ours - he belongs to Oz, but heck, I lurve to look at him anyway!!

And seeing all these fine exaples of the English male is making me feel all patriotic....Hurrah for the boys!

Jan 9, 2008, 7:21pm Top

And I'' add the fine, fine Take That fellas... hmmmm...

Jan 9, 2008, 7:21pm Top

Imagine being LadyN and being surrounded by HEGs everywhere! MMmmm! Of course, there may be some not-so-HEGs there, too, but they would still have the cute accent!

Jan 9, 2008, 7:22pm Top

Hmmmmm...I'll not shatter your illuysions.... IT'S TRUE - THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!!!!!

Jan 9, 2008, 7:27pm Top

Hugh Jackman is still cute, tho. Aren't Aussies still part of the Kingdom? Can't we stretch it?

Here's another HAG:

He's single again, too.

Jan 9, 2008, 7:28pm Top

Woohoo! I'm all for the HAGs!!!

Jan 9, 2008, 7:32pm Top

Grudge match: HEG's vs HAGs.

Jan 9, 2008, 7:34pm Top

Here's a good HEG we forgot:

Jan 9, 2008, 7:34pm Top

Ha ha ha!!! Ok.... Ill have a think!

Jan 9, 2008, 7:36pm Top

Jan 9, 2008, 9:58pm Top

*swoons* I forgot howmuch I loved HEGS

LG 26: thanks for the rupert grint, that's one my age...though robert patterson is pretty close too

Jan 10, 2008, 9:45am Top

yes gerry I will runaway with you..

Jan 10, 2008, 9:46am Top

yes gerry I will runaway with you...

This one is a HUG (Hot UK Guy) he's from Scotland (otherwise known as Och aye land, apparently).

edited for oopsie!

Edited: Jan 10, 2008, 10:13am Top

Now I'm feeling sorry for the Hot Latin Guys. Their acronym doesn't spell anything.

(HEG, HAG, HUG...but HLG sounds like something that happens when you give someone the Heimlich Maneuver.)

Jan 10, 2008, 12:36pm Top

#72 - ha ha ha!!

We'll think of something for the Latino Lovelies.... What about SLOGs - Sexy Latin Origin Guys??!!!

Jan 10, 2008, 7:25pm Top

oh yeah slog is soo much better

Edited: Jan 10, 2008, 7:32pm Top

SLOG is very close to snog.

ETA: I mean wordwise, though it works in the other sense too;)

Jan 13, 2008, 1:47am Top

hm...you've got a very, very good point there rissa.

It's interesting to note people's different tastes in Hegs and other cattegories. Some I agree with, some others I don't...but that's just me!

Jan 13, 2008, 1:53am Top

I think we all have different tastes in HEGs partially due to our different age groups. (Rupert is to young for me, some of the others are too old) and everyone has a slightly different idea of what's hot.

Jan 13, 2008, 1:55am Top

I agree with that last statement more than ever...

Jan 13, 2008, 7:52am Top

That's what makes the world go round!

Edited: Jan 14, 2008, 4:32am Top

i can't believe that you ladies lured me into this thread. Next time don't use an acronym as the subject, please!

Just to serve up some payback, here's an handsome devil for ya, and he's BOTH english AND australian. Enjoy:

hmmm, that picture didn't seem to work, durnit. Here's the link, anyway:

Jan 14, 2008, 8:18pm Top

AR, you better run and hide. I think there is a table around here somewhere.

Jan 14, 2008, 8:22pm Top

We left it in the Happy Birthday Snape thread. accio table!
Boy, the people who were under this table are going to be surprised.

Jan 14, 2008, 8:23pm Top

Yah. Were they still hiding from suge?

Jan 14, 2008, 8:27pm Top

Were they hiding from suge? I thought they were hiding from foggi. Now I need to go back and look...

Jan 14, 2008, 8:36pm Top

so confusing

Jan 14, 2008, 9:07pm Top

they were hiding from foggi.

Jan 14, 2008, 9:15pm Top

Yeah! Why in the world would anyone hide from me?

Jan 14, 2008, 11:01pm Top

*flicks suge in the head*
can't imagine why

Jan 14, 2008, 11:14pm Top

why you little---

Jan 14, 2008, 11:21pm Top

Jan 14, 2008, 11:28pm Top

*pulls g's pigtail playfully*

Jan 14, 2008, 11:36pm Top

*A very surprised foggi arrives, sitting on top of the table JP just summoned*

Well, that's one way of getting from one thread to another!

Jan 15, 2008, 12:23am Top

*AR dives under table*
Do you think I'll need any more protection from "Rupert-drooling" fiends?

Jan 15, 2008, 4:00am Top

*From another thread Kerian says "Hey! Where'd the table go?!" After a search, she discovers it here.*

Um, left over cake anyone?

*whispers to A_R*
Only if you mention it. ;)

Jan 15, 2008, 12:57pm Top

He's less than half my age and I think Rupert is a hottie. Call me a dirty old bag, but redheads rule!

But I'm not getting my wand out over it! Jeeze. g can have him, he's too young for me.

Apr 15, 2008, 9:26am Top

Okay, he's American not English. I don't watch his show, but I keep seeing his picture in TV Guide and he's sooooo pretty, I had to share.

Apr 15, 2008, 9:38am Top

oooh quizzical eyebrows! i have a thing for those!

Edited: Apr 15, 2008, 9:50am Top

Really suge? Then you might also enjoy this HKG

His brows aren't so quizzical in this pic. but if you watch his show they are.

Edited becasue the stupid pic didn't copy right!

Apr 15, 2008, 12:50pm Top

yes yes veir veir nice but here is the love of my life

Apr 15, 2008, 12:57pm Top

Suge, what do you think of my idea to cast Henry as Regulus?

Edited: Apr 15, 2008, 1:26pm Top

Regulus has been cast! I went to www.hpana.com to find links for the lawsuit controversy thread, and saw this article. What do you think?

ETA: looking at the article, he appears in one of Slughorn's pictures in the HBP movie -- will be interesting to see if they use him for the DH movies, too.

Apr 15, 2008, 1:54pm Top

Okay I can't read the article right now, cause I'm "working" but I glanced and what? Regulus Black in HBP? When is Reg in HBP, except his name?!

Apr 15, 2008, 2:05pm Top

Yes, I was thinking DH for Regulus. Unless i'm forgetting how it all worked. I just remember everyone speculating about who RAB was before DH came out.

I think they kid they chose has the right look for Reg.

Apr 15, 2008, 2:29pm Top

106- I agree, LG. And he also looks like he belongs in Sirius Black's family.

Apr 15, 2008, 2:32pm Top

oooh I cant think of a role I wouldn't love to see Henry in, lg. *sigh* especially if he wanted to play leading man in my life, oooooh! Henry Cavill if you are reading this, I LOVE YOU!

Apr 15, 2008, 8:14pm Top

Okay, now I read it and it makes a little bit more sense. He does look like a Black. I do wonder if they'll use the same person for DH, I mean, it doesn't sound like there was much in the way of auditioning!

Apr 16, 2008, 7:35am Top

Suge, since I am on my obsessive kick with Outlander..Henry Cavill is my minds Jamie. He is beautiful in ever sense of that word.

Apr 16, 2008, 1:28pm Top

110--> *sigh* HE'S GORGEOUS! I've started watching The Tudors, and every time Charles Brando comes on I feel the need to squeel and fan myself. GORGEOUS!

Apr 16, 2008, 1:29pm Top

I meant Charles Brandon.

Apr 16, 2008, 1:30pm Top

#110 Jamie should be a HOT REDHEAD! Henry Cavill is hot, but he simply does not qualify.

Then again, I'm not a big fan of Outlander, so whatever you fangirls want is ok with m.e

Apr 16, 2008, 1:35pm Top

113--> BOOOOOOO!

I'm soooo effing mad! I still dont see an Edward. Robert is undeniably gorgeous, but *sobs* he's not an Edward!

Apr 16, 2008, 2:03pm Top

#114, mymy!

Suge, my dear: now you have did it. I didn't think of Robert as a pretty guy, but here? Pfew! Yup, this is the Edward I want, err, I had in mind when reading the books.

Apr 16, 2008, 2:12pm Top

*ducks too to make eye contact* Nah, he's too skinny to play Edward! Edward was lean, but muscle-y. The only way to placate me on the subject is if Robert takes his shirt off and lets me see.

Apr 16, 2008, 2:29pm Top

*grins* aww Suge, everything is OK dear!

Anyway: I researched a bit further and *shock* the picture isn't real. Bummer. It is photoshopped.

However, this site has the real deal: pictures on the set!

Apr 16, 2008, 2:49pm Top

When is the movie coming out? I guess I should read the book first, because I'm going to see Robert Pattison, fo sho!

Apr 16, 2008, 3:29pm Top

Apr 16, 2008, 3:50pm Top

Urgh. Good thing I checked this thread or I'd have missed the Twilight pics!

Apr 16, 2008, 3:54pm Top

#119 Suge, calm down, those are stills. They will look fine on film. Different medium.

Apr 16, 2008, 3:55pm Top

He was mentioned, but I didn't see pics!

and also, to indulge my Hobbit fantasies

(though I prefer elves)

Apr 16, 2008, 3:56pm Top

Sean Bean rocks! But who is #2?

Apr 16, 2008, 3:57pm Top

I agree with LG. They will look much different in the actual movie itself. *hugs suge*

Apr 16, 2008, 4:00pm Top

That's Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan! (aka Pippin and Merry, respectively) I find them attractive mostly becuase I think they're hilarious. If you watch the extended LOTR with the cast commentary, you will LOL muchly! I love a man who can make me laugh!

Apr 16, 2008, 4:13pm Top

I love their commentary. Except by the third movie, all the actors had to say was whether that scene was done "in pickups" or not. As though we care. ;-)

Apr 16, 2008, 4:58pm Top

121--->*calms down* I was thinking that too lg, that's the only reason I didn't have a full-blow tt attack

125--> Don't lie to me! I know you like them because of their hairy feet!

Apr 16, 2008, 4:59pm Top

lg i love movie commentaries! I'm such a geek! just call me biggeek!

Edited: Apr 16, 2008, 5:03pm Top

suge, you're a biggeek. then again, so am I!

No I'm not, I'm a littlegeek, duh.

Apr 16, 2008, 5:04pm Top

My 22 year-old sister says we're all geeks for liking books.

Apr 16, 2008, 5:10pm Top

so tell we say that she is illiterate for not liking books.

Apr 16, 2008, 5:21pm Top

I'm not on speaking terms with her. Another time.

Apr 16, 2008, 5:30pm Top

Hey, can you see the pics of billy and dom? It showed on my work pc, but its not showing up now....should I replace it?

#126 You know what I would love is if they did a commentary that was just Dom and Billy, they're hilarious, and I really didn't care much about what anyone else had to say. Especially Sean and Elijah, so dull! (By the way, I read Sean's book, he has serious inferiority issues!)

Apr 16, 2008, 6:14pm Top

#133 Hey, who could turn out normal if their mom was Patty Duke?

He sure did inherit her talent, tho, huh? His scenes in LOTR make me cry ever time. (I thought of another one--at the end of FOTR when he says, "Mr. Gandalf told me, "don't you leave him, Samwise Gamgee" and I don't mean to" *sob*)

Edited: Apr 16, 2008, 7:17pm Top

#134 Very true, he probably makes me cry in that movie more than anyone else. When reading his book though it's very obvious that he has a complex from being an actor, he uses big words just for the sake of using them and goes on and on about having a Bachelor's degree. It's the way he does it, it's very obvious. It is a pretty interesting read if you can get past that. It's not just about LOTR. He talks about his mom and being worried that he might be Bipolar too. About John Astin and how it was him working on the Frighteners that made Sean want to do LOTR. And then of course there's some fun behind the scenes LOTR stuff too, the famous tatoos, original Aragorn, etc. Oh yeah, he whines about his weight a lot too. Oh well!

Oh yeah, and he's cute here:

Apr 17, 2008, 5:12pm Top

Have I ever mentioned that I know Patty Duke? Anna is very nice considering the childhood she had, unfortunatiely some of her issues were passed on to her kids.

Apr 17, 2008, 5:15pm Top

Yes, Ris, I've already squeed all over you about this. Do you know Sean, too?

Apr 17, 2008, 6:34pm Top

no, haven't ever met him.

Apr 17, 2008, 6:36pm Top

here you can see a video on the set of twilight

Apr 17, 2008, 7:12pm Top

ohhh cool book cover.

Apr 17, 2008, 7:21pm Top

For suge's desktop. ;)

You know, she had complained the Cullen's were too pasty, but Edward isn't in this Twilight poster I found. We must wait till we see the movie previews before accusing the movie of making them look like Geishas, I figure.

Robert Pattinson as Edward...

Billy Burke as Charlie...

Jackson Rathbone as Japer...

Kellan Lutz as Emmet...

Peter Facinelli as Carlisle...

Cam Gigandet as James...

Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black...

There are more listed on Meyer's site.

Apr 18, 2008, 9:05am Top

I don't really have anything to say, but I have a nice long line of my name as the last post right now and I can always put up more pics of hot guys! How about a HIG

Hot Indonesian Guy? wow, obscure.

Hmmm....when you google "hot indonesian guy" girls come up.

Here is a hot Indian guy though!

Edited b/c I used the wrong reference!

I stopped watching Heroes a while back but he was the best thing about it. Pure sex on two legs.

OK, I'll stop now.

Edited: Apr 18, 2008, 12:46pm Top

#146 Totally! (But I still watch it) This guys pretty hot too:

Apr 18, 2008, 12:53pm Top

#147 He does nothing for me, but you do know that he's been cast as Spock in the new Star Trek movie, right? That I can see.

I stopped watching Heroes when they stopped doing the rerun before BSG. I only watched it when it was on scifi channel. It's on NBC on a night I'm busy.

Apr 18, 2008, 12:59pm Top

lg, I don't think there have been any new episodes in a long time, not since before the holidays.

Apr 18, 2008, 1:37pm Top

I haven't watched since midway through season one.

Apr 18, 2008, 1:42pm Top

That's because it's barely been on lg. Thanks to greedy producers and writers.

Syler scares the living daylights out of me. Son of Hannibal Lector. Brrrr.

Now Mohinder is easy on the eyes....

Apr 18, 2008, 2:01pm Top

They ended Chapter 2 before the Holidays because they were unsure when the strike would end. Chapter 3 will start in the fall. I agree Sylar is totally creepy, and normally I don't really have a "bad boy" thing, but I just think he's hot. I haven't seen a ST movie since Generations, but you better believe I'm going to see this one! I love JJ Abrams too!

Edited: Apr 18, 2008, 2:07pm Top

not greedy writers jp, they weren't being compensated for dvd's of tv shows or tv being watched online, even though the companies make money from both.

Apr 18, 2008, 2:10pm Top

Oh sorry. Did not intend it to look that way. I meant, thanks to writers and greedy producers. I backed the writers. As a writer, I wanted them to be compensated.

So hard to concentrate on grammar on a pretty day...

Apr 18, 2008, 2:37pm Top

I have to say, I was confused as to why you seemed to think the writers were greedy, it seemed out of character! I'm glad it got cleared up!

My dentist is a hot English guy but I don't have a picture (because that would be weird).

If I knew how to post a picture I would put one of the lovely David Tennent as Doctor Who up. Technically he's Scottish but it's joined on and he does a lovely English accent.

May 23, 2008, 7:43pm Top

I like to help out, but no idea which rupert lg was looking for. Here's a couple:

There's one other rupert that comes to mind but i'm not posting pictures because that feels weird.

Orlando's awesome.

He plays a fake English guy on Torchwood (Doctor Who spinoff), too, and he has brown hair. (His natural colour.) Actually, he basically plays Spike as a time-travelling pansexual human in that show.

Here is a cutie to make up for the unfortunate pic at post 207.

Aug 16, 2008, 7:37am Top

210--> *face deflates slightly* He is still very, very gorgeous. *sigh* even I you hadn't told me that BSG is a great show, I would watch it just to watch him... even if I hade to work to tune out the mind-numbing dialogue.

Aug 16, 2008, 8:09am Top

You can also find Mr Bamber in Hornblower if boys on boats is more your thing than boys in space.

Aug 16, 2008, 8:24am Top

I can't imagine a place where I wouldn't like boys. So boys in ships ---sail or rocket---are very welcome! Thanks! I've been meaning to read the Horatio Hornblower series and watch the movies but where does a girl get the time for everything? I also don't trust the publication dates nor the order in which he books are displayed at the book store.

What I mean is that sometimes a Jane Austen book would be copywritten in 1995. I know better than that, but what about authors that are less known to me? How do I know which book to read first? Look at Clive Staples Lewis (his name is sooo English) his Narnia books are all out of order. I suppose I could google these things, but do you understand what I'm saying?

Aug 16, 2008, 8:33am Top

As far as I'm aware, the first Hornblower book is "Mr Midshipman Hornblower". After that it's all a blur. The first Hornblower in the TV series is called "The Even Chance", though I believe they have different titles in America to England/Australia. In fact, I just went and looked it up and it appears to be called "The Duel" for those of you looking for it in the US.

Edited: Aug 16, 2008, 8:56am Top

207, 209, 212 MsDonna, Thanks! Hehehe!

ETA: Suge, What are you doing up so early, besides thinking about boys? :)

Aug 16, 2008, 10:53am Top

Hey suge, why don't you use the series feature here on LT? They'll list the books in the correct order for you and for the more contested series I've seen them list in both chronological order and publication order.

Aug 16, 2008, 2:18pm Top

Patrick O'Brien is a much better writer than Forrester, imho. Try the Aubrey/Maturin books, they rock.

suge, BSG is brimming with HEGs & HAGs. Here's Michael Trucco, who is American and 6'3".

Aug 16, 2008, 2:29pm Top

216-->Thanks, I am very anal about reading things in order!

Thanks, Bib! I completely forgot about that feature!

Ha ha ha! Compski! It is a very rare thing for me to get up before 1 or 2 pm on a weekend. I don't sleep much during the week so I make up for it then. Couple that with the fact that I am more than the usual amount of lazy, and the fact that I am a marathon sleeper---I've slept thru whole weekends---and you get someone who .... sleeps a lot during the weekend... yes.

No, the reason I was up at that time was because I wanted to go swimming at this pool I've never been to. It was divine. It wasn't crowded and the pool is HUGE! The day was gloriously sunny... ah perfection! I see myself going there every Saturday from now on. I got a really great workout, my arms want to fall off!! And I am TANNED!

I'm surprised by you! I expected you to check here for him right away, and no! ;) Basically in the long run, all it took was a quick google image search. I had been going about looking for him the difficult way. All it took were these keywords: "Evanescence hot guy." I kid you not.

Aug 21, 2008, 11:54am Top

lol I couldn't find him at all. I think I Googled "man sitting across the table from Amy Lee in Lose Control Video", "Hot guy in lose control by Evanescence", you know, asinine stuff.

he is soo gorgie! And dreamy! And yummy! OOOOHHHH! I can't do anything else. I have this page up on my phone too, so I keep losing my train of thought, and day-dreaming about Oliver Goodwill.

I think suge needs some more HEGs. Google!

Hey, it's that Eragon guy! (apparently his name is Edward Speleers) He's 20.

William Moseley, 21

Hmmmm...it says his name is Brandon Wilson, he's 6'2 (good height, right?), has dark blonde hair, and green eyes.

Okay, I found him and I know he's not English but...

More Americans

It's Chad! (he's 27)

Marco Dapper........he was on the cover of Men's health, suge! (25)
I still can't get this to work so whatever.

Doctor Who doesn't have any new episodes on right now. :(

Edited: Sep 17, 2008, 4:42pm Top

No, no, no, no, non, mon Grasshopper, you are refering to Ed Speleers:

and the lovely gorgy upstairs in 263 is Ben Barnes who played Prince Caspian in er... what was the name of that movie?... Prince Caspian, he was also in Stardust:

Here he is as P.C. in er.... P.C. (he's the taller fellow):

I'm not seeing the Prince Caspian pic. For K, since you keep asking, looks like the Speeler kid is 20 now. Ben Barnes (who I checked on imdb as soon as I got home from Prince Caspian) is a wonderfully non-cringe inducing 27.

271, Speaking as a building tech coordinator, you probably should avoid this thread at school, Kirby. Your computer stores most pictures you see on the web and they are not hard to find on it. Save it for home.

Sep 19, 2008, 5:23pm Top

Of course not (to the viewing at school). I do save it for home, but how embarrassing is it when your mum or dad walk by when you're viewing this thread.

Sep 19, 2008, 5:42pm Top

kik! Good point! At least your parents see it in context, though. But on the other hand, then they start wondering about the people you are hanging around with online. :)

Ok I'm going to try this agian. Go away Christian, but only for a little while:

Alex Pettyfer is maybe 10 years old. That is why I asked my mom why she made me so old.

That makes me less confused. I had wondered why you said you wished you weren't born till '87 with the photos from #285. I knew that guy was surely older than that! Now, though...Suge, you craddle robber! (And I would guess 13-14.)

Okay, I admit it. I'm not boy crazy, but when it comes to Grey's...

It was all because of McDreamy that I watched "Enchanted." (McDreamy is Patrick Dempsey's character's nickname on Greys', for the obscenely weird who do not know. ;)

I found out the name of the Scottish actor on tonight's episode. It's Kevin McKidd.

I did tell you, silly.

Photo Re-Sizing with HEGs: A Beginner's Guide

For copies of my book, please refer to the following link, Photo Re-Sizing with HEGs. Resizing photos of HEGs is just two mouse clicks away, fifty percent guaranteed. (Heehee.) If you can't wait for your ordered purchase of my book to arrive in the mail, here's a preview tell-all guide:

Take your usual photo code info

Between the closing/end quotation marks and the last carrot/aligator mouth, you're going to enter in some extra information. ( " RightHere > )

Where I wrote the words RightHere, place in this information without any spaces:
height = " HeightYouWant " width = " WidthYouWant "

The height and width can only be entered using numbers. To give you an estimate, the covers displayed on my profile page are 100 for height and 68 for width.

Let's practice photo resizing.

translates as ...

Resizing to twice in a half as large . . . 250 X 170

Does this help? :)

Edited: Oct 9, 2008, 3:22pm Top

And since you want to make Henry's pic kind of larger, let's get you a better size estimate...

KIK! To think I'm teaching you resizing photos with HEGs! This should be a class or something, right? ;)

ETA: Humbug! I have to leave now. I'll check to see your photo resizing progress after I'm home from work. 9pmish LT time. Adios!

Edited: Oct 9, 2008, 3:24pm Top

Resizing....naw, I won't go there.

So anyway, who's up for a little HEG action...I feel in the mood for someone I wouldn't go to jail for coveting, how about the lovely Dr. House, Hugh Laurie.

And here he is as I first saw him, as the idiot prince in BlackAdder. Handsome, musical and funny--the Trifecta of hotness!

edited because my html skills are off today. I think I'll blame Kenley, or maybe Michael Kors.

Edited: Oct 9, 2008, 3:26pm Top

#321 Yeah, I always thought that was uber stupid. There's sunlight during the day, even with clouds.

OK, I'll shut up now. (God, I'm a brat today.)

Oct 10, 2008, 4:27pm Top

yeah, the pick the link goes to is in-between takes. they always bundle actors then if it's even a little cold because they usually can't be bundled when they are filming. they filmed in Oregon, not Washington, but it's still rainy the place they filmed, so they were probably trying to protect the actors' hair, clothes, and makeup from the rain.

Oct 10, 2008, 8:22pm Top

that hair-helmet looks like it could protect him quite well from the rain all by itself.
