Should Jo Dexter be spending time dealing with Buchanan and other corrupt people on her unit?

No she has become complacent in her job and is turning a blind eye on the corruption going on.

She should be proactive in cleaning up her unit--especially now that MacLean has thrown it in her face. If she continues to ignore their behavior she should be relieved of command.

Her attitude is what makes people like Buchanan even more uncontrollable.

The whole attitude to the policing of vice is wrong - dealing with the devil you know in case a worse one comes along just doesn't cut it!
And yes, Dexter's department needs to be cleaned up too.

Ignore it and it will go away seems to be what she's working with. Don't these cops have any pride in the job? The whole place needs a good house cleaning.

You can’t properly police a neighborhood like that. She has to clean up the team. Rotating people might help.

she should clean up the dept. Perhaps if she put a better team in place, the pros would feel safer testifying and they could start getting the neighborhood cleaned up

She s complicit with what is going on as she is not taking tough action to sort it out. Totally unforgivable.
