Greetings, all! I rejoined LT last June, but stuck to a single thread over in 75 Books Challenge. I’ve kept an eye on the Category Challenge as well, an with 2018 on the horizon, I’ve decided to keep a thread for this group as well - I’ve always enjoyed the Category Challenge format and the Cats, Kits and Dog!

18x18 seems a little ambitious, so I’ve settled on three groups of six categories each (some of which will be split further) and aim for at least six books for each category. That’s 108, which shouldn’t be a problem.

Group One: the Geography categories
In an ongoing attempt to spread my reading around the world, I have six categories that roughly match the continents.

Group Two: the Deweys
I’ve begun work on the Dewey Decimal Challenge in large part because my reading tends to clump in certain decimals - and I want my reading to be more broad! I will not use the 8xx decimal (literature) and some of the decimals will be combined to work out to six.

Group Three: Genre fiction
I read plenty of genre fiction - more science fiction & fantasy than mystery, these days. I also try to regularly read plays and have a separate category for Pulitzer Prize for Drama winners and nominees.

I’ll participate in various Kits and Cats, but while I’ll aim for every month, I’m not going to be too upset if I don’t manage it.

On to the books!

Welcome! I've got a damaged charging port on my laptop, so off it will be going to be repaired - and I have no idea how long that will take.

I set this up today on a borrowed computer - I'd forgotten how annoying it can be to use an unfamiliar keyboard! I'll pretty my thread up once I've go my laptop back, but this should do for the moment.

I may not post much for a bit, but I won't have forgotten my thread is here.

Welcome back and have a great reading year! I'm using a borrowed computer myself (at my parents' for the holidays) and fully sympathize with the annoyance of an unfamiliar keyboard. Hope your laptop gets repaired soon!
