I don't think I hit my goal in 2017, yet. Not sure I will since my reading has waned since Aug. I am planning again to go for about 30 ROOTS in 2018. I will add my ticker later. I will also post more of an introduction this weekend (hopefully).

So my daughter had some children's books she was getting rid of so she gave them to me. Of course I decided to read some of them before I give them away to different places. Here are the books that I read this weekend. I am counting them as ROOTS since my daughter gave them to me in December.

1. Peter Pan (A Little Golden Book) by Eugene Bradley Coco
2. Disney's Aladdin the Magic Carpet ride by Teddy Slater Margulies
3. Just me and my dad by Mercer Mayer
4. Just go to bed by Mercer Mayer
5. Disney's The Lion King (Little Golden Book) by Justine Korman

I enjoyed all of them. It was nice to revisit the books that my children read when they were young.

I have more children's books to read and I hope to read some of them this week.

>16 crazy4reading:, oh my goodness, I adored the Mercer Mayer Little Critter books when I was growing up! I am pretty sure my Dad read me JUST GO TO BED many, many times. I wonder if we still have any...

I am still trudging through my book club book for this month. Funny thing yesterday I was thinking that tomorrow (meaning Wed 2/14) is out book club meeting. Well I am rushing this month. Our meeting is not until next Wed. I was worried that I wasn't going to have the book finished tonight. I have to stop watching Supernatural and playing Sing Star on Playstation and read. I don't want to stop my exercising since I haven't been doing that too often.

I have been busy with my BF the past couple of weekends. Funny thing is most Saturdays are spent apart as we each do a few things at our own places. Saturday night usually consists of him playing video games and I am either on my computer playing games, or my phone playing games or just looking at Facebook. When I should be reading. I actually enjoy watching him play video games and sometimes want to play along too. It cuts into my reading time.

Today after work I am planning to go home and get in some exercise and then shower and get ready to head over to Tom's place. He works till after 8 pm. I may take some time to read before I head over or play on my Sing Star (which could be a bad idea because I love to sing!!) And 5 minutes has turned into hours.

I am still reading The Children's Blizzard by David Laskin. I hope to make some headway with it tonight. I think I will have to listen to music and really concentrate on just reading. I am reading Every Wild Heart by Meg Donohue for my ROOTS.

I finished another ROOT:

#6 Pinocchio by Eugene Bradley Coco

Easy read for young children. A great way to introduce reading to children. I always enjoy revisiting these books.
