Hello everyone!

Glad to be back for another year of reading with everyone. I didn't finish many of my categories last year, but I do love doing a genre style challenge, so I'm definitely in for 2018. I read over 120 books last year, I need to get better at spreading them across my categories and not focusing on my favorites.

I will be doing a step challenge again.

I will look at your Urban Magic/Steampunk category to see what you find for it. Hope you have a great year!

Not quite sure on all my categories, but most of them are now set. I've also finished off two books already, so they have been placed. Brian's Winter by Gary Paulsen, audiobook; and a quick young adult Star Wars book Darth Maul: the Shadow Conspiracy.

I've had a very crazy couple of months, hence the lack of posts. My mom was diagnosed with leukemia in mid-April and was in the hospital for 2 months. Our lives have been rather disrupted, and I've definitely not gotten much reading done. She's been home for a couple of weeks now and she feels decent but she needs to see a specialist about what to do next.

We are planning to go on a family camping trip over July 4th week, so I should get some reading done then.

Hoping to keep updating my various threads when I get a chance, but it will be rather random for the near future.

So sorry to learn about what has been happening in RL for you! Sending good health vibes for your mom and best wishes for the ability for you to relax during the camping trip.

I'm sorry to hear that your mom has been ill. Hope you have a good camping trip and that all goes well with the specialist when she sees them.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom! I hope the meeting with the specialist goes well and that her treatment is successful going forward.

Also, I hope you and your family have a wonderful time on your camping trip!

Thanks for the support. Our camping trip went well and we enjoyed getting away as a family. I managed to read several books. My mom is starting another round of chemo at the end of this week. It will take a few weeks until we know anything. Hopefully this will put her in remission.
