Its glossy, green foliage is very robust and lasts well when cut.
They need very careful handling as they will bruise easily.
This flower comes in the various hues of white, cream, pink and red.
Cut flowers last about 3 days if kept in water.
It is most readily available from late winter to early spring and fall.
It has a mild, sweet scent and is usually inexpensive to moderately expensive.
The meaning of this flower is "excellence", "beauty", "perfected loveliness", and "contentment".
can you guest what flower I refer to :))try?

I found this very difficult with the self-imposed constraint of only using books from my library. So some of these are something of a stretch.

The Orchid Thief: A True Story of Beauty and Obsession by Susan Orlean
Red Dirt Marijuana and Other Tastes by Terry Southern (What? It's a flower!)
At the Jerusalem by Paul Bailey (as in Jerusalem artichoke, actually a type of sunflower)
Freeze My Margarita by Lauren Henderson (Margherita is the Italian for daisy)
Oberammergau: The Troubling Story of the World's Most Famous Passion Play (as in passion flower, named for its apparent resemblance to the crucifixion of Christ)

I also have Pollen by Jeff Noon, but that's only part of a flower.
I'm sure I also have a copy of Pensees (French for "thoughts" and for "pansies") by Blaise Pascal somewhere as well but I don't have it indexed.
