I hope it's OK if I post a topic here. I just want to get an idea of the group's tastes.

At the moment, my 3 favorites are The iron tonic, or, A winter afternoon in Lonely Valley, The Inanimate Tragedy, and The West Wing.

What are your favorites?

I'm really fond of "The Wuggly Ump" and "The Gashlycrumb Tinies."

The Wuggly Ump is good. The Willowdale Handcar is my sentimental favorite because it was the first Edward Gorey I got in about 1970. Three Books from Fantod Press includes The Untitled Book which I recommend in the small format. It is very playful, in an Edward Pig sort of way.

for me it would have to be either the Tunnel Calamity or the Dwindling Party... Very interactive and fun!

If you want fun and interactive--there are a couple of Gorey books I would recommend--the Helpless Doorknob--which is a deck of cards you can suffle and tell a story no matter what comes up. The Raging Tide which asks questions on each page which advances or digresses you through the story. There are a couple of cutaway books which are interactive, such as The Dripping Faucet which are in several parts per page. Lots of fun!!
