2018 has been a pretty depressing year at my house, so I decided to lighten my reading mood in 2019. For me the happiest place on Earth truly is Disney World, so for this year's challenge, that's where I'm heading. I've been many times over the years. What I love most about Disney are the memories that are created there (especially with my kids), and I'm hoping that in a year or two we'll be able to introduce Henry to the magic of Disney and make some memories with him.

I'll be using 15 Disney areas and attractions as my categories and attempting to read 15 books from each category.

Main Street is the first thing you encounter as you enter the gates of Disney World and emerge from under the railroad tunnel, and it's one of my favorite areas just because of how pretty everything is.

Splash Mountain (one of Frontierland's best attractions) was the first big ride we ever were able to get our daughter, Emma, to go on. She wasn't thrilled about trying it (she was 5 at the time), but once she did she was hooked. We ended up riding it 5 times in a row.

Ok, so this probably isn't a ride most people look forward to. It's more an introduction to the land and a way to take a little breather in between waiting in long lines for "ride-ier" rides. But I like it. I also remember when it was called the Wedway People Mover.

Ok, this is a super fun ride, but my standout memory of it is a tear-filled one. On our last trip to Disney, my Emma was about 8. She had a Minnie Mouse that we'd gotten for her when she was about 18 months. She never went anywhere without Minnie. Minnie was in every photo Emma was in, she got cakes for her birthday (unfortunately she couldn't eat them as Minnie is allergic to dairy, but we enjoyed them in her honor), and of course she went to Disney with us. Well one afternoon we were having ice creams in Tomorrowland, and I realized Minnie wasn't with us. Oh the tears. I had a thought that I could retrace our steps in my photos taken on my phone and see when she last appeared. We tracked her back to the Buzz Lightyear ride. I spoke to a Disney worker, and a few moments later another worker came walking out with Minnie cradled in her arms like a baby. Em and I spent about 10 minutes crying together over that, and it is something that still gets me a bit teary when I think about it. Oh, and Minnie turned 15 in August and we celebrated with cupcakes.

For me, no trip to WDW is complete without a visit to Epcot's World Showcase. It's like taking a miniature Disney-fied trip around the world. My most favorite spot is Mexico. I love how they be created a night-time outdoors environment inside. I always have to have at least one meal in the little waterside restaurant next to the volcano. I would live there if they'd let me. They won't.

The Haunted Mansion was always one of my favorite things as well as the It's a Small World Boat Ride. I haven't been since I was a teenager (and I'm not young now). I simply don't want to pay so much money to stand in line for hours.
