- USA urban setting
- the book itself is somewhat music centric
- protag (gender unsure) goes to a dance club that was named The Start and eventually DJ’s there
- protag is explicitly under 21 and had to try several times to talk to the bouncer to be let in
- protag is friends with a character that worked at the club as either a bartender or a barback (unsure)
