What happened to this group? It used to be pretty active.
But in the 9 1/2 months of 2019 there have been only 6 posts in just one thread, and nothing else. Is everyone just sitting on their sofas watching Game of Thrones re-runs?

Even in 2018 and 2017 there were only three threads each year. But look at the previous years -- lots of traffic in 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013 and on back. Is it because Terry Pratchett died?

I didn't come here to complain. I just read a review of a forthcoming fantasy novel in an online Welsh newspaper and came here to post the link. (I have nothing to do with the book, the author or the news service -- just thought it might be of interest.) Anyway, here it is:

Think Librarything as a whole has quieted down. Could be misperception though.

Are you not counting the monthly "What are we reading?" threads? I seem to recall those happening once a month and getting a few responses.

Could be they decided to read than talk.
Or that just the talk threads have faded to the background, because people prefer GR or Twitter or other places.

Yeah, come to think of itI've been getting those 'Where are you in Fantasyland' posts on my home page. But if you look o the Fantastyfans page none of those from 2018 or 2018 are shown -- just much older ones. surely they should appear... is this a bug of some kind?

Boy, am I dumb! I have those 'Where are you in Fantasyland' posts on Ignore for my home page. I didn't realize that would make them invisible when I came to the Group page. I wish I could see them here but not on my Homepage Talk Module.

And so here are a couple fantasy re-issues I'd been meaning to post here:

Kingdoms of Elfin

and The Cat's Cradle Book (with a few fugitive Elfin stories tacked on)

By the incomparable Sylvia Townsend Warner, author of the witchcraft novel Lolly Willowes. And fwiw she was the niece-by-marriage of the great Arthur Machen. (Her mother was the sister of Machen's second wife.)

>6 Crypto-Willobie: Thanks for the STW links. I've read Lolly Willowes and some of her less fantastic novels but need to read the short stories. She was such an interesting writer.

I used to be pretty active on LT, but several years ago, I discovered FB groups of many varieties, and I've been much more active there. It also seems GR has surged ahead of LT as the preferred book-sharing site of the masses, though I personally don't use it. I've also found myself getting sloppier about my personal library cataloging (which is why I'm here now, trying to get caught up), even though I have more free time now than I did years ago when I was obsessive about getting new purchases onto the site almost immediately. I'd also blame a bit on politics, as I was never so caught up in them as I have been for the past 3 years.
