They gave Tim & LT credit with starting the trend, too. Always cool to hear on the radio about something you use and enjoy.

That's tough. There were some sites before, notable SingleFile (now dead) and Bibliophil (http://www.bibliophil.org). Neither really took off, and they didn't quite have the idea LT and others ran with. I didn't know about either when I started LT. Certainly when I started LT the general opinion was that it was a fun hobby project, but a complete joke as a company. Only success changed that, eventually leading to millions of dollars being doled out to very imitative companies.

I heard it while I was on the road. I called my wife (on my handsfree) and said: "Hey... LibraryThing is on NPR!" but she didn't get a radio tuned in on time. Thanks for the link, kensor!
