One is a giant used book sale sponsored by an Edmonton newspaper to raise funds for children's literacy. The other is the World Fantasy Convention 2008, which is being held in Calgary, Alberta. Is this acceptable? Is it possible? I kept getting error messages when I tried. 2sabreuseAll events need a venue, but the Fair/Festival venue type is designed for just the kind of cases you're describing. 3tardisDoh! I was going about it the wrong way completely. Have now posted one of those events - will post the other tomorrow. THANKS!! 5lampbaneAnd speaking of the fair/festivals category... What DOES happen once a fair/festival/convention/book sale finishes up anyway? Do they fade from the map eventually? (Hopefully not deleted, I know Tim said something about "dead" venues still showing up in searches, at least.) 6SqueakyChu--> 5 My guess is that, if a fair/festival is listed as a venue, it remains on the site with the wrong dates (after the current dates go by) until updated. I've been adding "events" listings with these fair/festival venues to make them show up on LOCAL coming events on the correct dates. Are others doing likewise? 7lampbaneWell, as Tim and Chris intended, I've been adding the sub-events at these things, like the panels and signings. 8SqueakyChu--> 7 That's a great idea, except for some that have too many entries to even begin listing! :) 9lampbaneI did it for Lunacon! You just have to make a project out of it. (A very, very tiring project. I wish there was a way to import spreadsheets.) 10SqueakyChu--> 9 Well, I either enter one festival over a two week period or I enter multiple venue and events. I think I'll just have to opt for the latter as my time is limited. :) | AboutThis topic is not marked as primarily about any work, author or other topic. TouchstonesNo touchstones |
