As I finish up my ARCs, I usually want to keep them moving. I'd prefer to give them to someone who will read and review them, since I think it's the most fun part of receiving free books!
I have available, if anyone is interested, I, robot. I don't need to be compensated for postage, but I can't afford to send it outside of America, sorry!
(Thanks, lovemybooks for taking care of my wish for The Gargoyle!)
I have an extra copy of the gargoyle. i'll send it with the arc you won on my blog. (you are the same person who won guardian right?)
I want to read The Gargoyle if anyone has an extra copy. In exchange, I'm happy to swap another ARC (I've got a stack of them). If you've got an extra copy of The Gargoyle and are interested in an exchange, let me know, and I'll send you the list of what I've got so you can see if anything is appealing.
I'd love to read The Stories of Devil-Girl if anyone has a copy. I have lots of stuff to trade.
I've tried every way that I can think of to get a copy of The Good Thief by Hannah Tinti, including contacting the author, but have had no luck. I did request it thru ER but don't hold out much hope. If anyone is willing to part with a copy I have a nice hardback of Stealing Athena by Karen Essex that I would be glad to trade.
I have copies of A Boy and his leprechaun by Jeremy McGuire, Boone's Creek by Kathryn Neff Perr and Tarnished Beauty by Cecilia Samartin if anyone is interested. I'd prefer to trade for other ARCs so if you have something you are willing to trade for one, or all of these, send me a PM or leave me a message here.
I'm looking for a copy of The Aviary Gate. I'd be willing to trade this for any (or all!) of the books I listed in #9.
I'd really like a copy of the Heartbreak Diet. I have a bunch of things I'm willing to trade.
I too am looking for a copy of Tomato Girl if anyone has one that they already read and are willing to part with.
I have an ARC copy of The Age Of Conglomerates if anyone is interested. Just let me know and I'll ship it off to you.
This has been spoken for. Thanks
I'm looking for Home Girl I don't have much to trade right now, except what I've listed on bookmooch. I'd definitely mooch it through bookmooch though :)
PM if interested thank you!
#5 (or anyone) - Are you still looking for The Gargoyle? I lent out my copy but it should be back to me in a week or so if you want to swap.
If anyone has a copy of Lace Reader they are done with I would love to read it. I keep hearing such wonderful things about it from you all.
I'm looking for a copy of The Aviary Gate if anyone has one that they'd like to part with. I'll gladly swap BookMooch points for it.
#8--Thanks but I've managed to snag a copy of The Gargoyle already. I'm sure someone will take you up on your offer, though, as it's a popular one.
Swapna, Did you like The Forbidden Daughter, I got a copy too, but haven't got around to reading it yet. I didn't see a review of it yet on your site:)
I actually got two copies - a bound copy and an unbound. So I figured I'd trade the unbound one away! I haven't read it yet, but I'm planning on it this week. I really liked The Dowry Bride
I haven't read any of her books but this one does sounds good:) That's encouraging you liked her other book! Thanks! Tracy
I am still trying to score a copy of The Gargoyle. I am new to the whole ARC thing so I don't really have much to trade.
Bella - My copy is on loan right now, but I can let you know when I get it back - unless you get one sooner. It wasn't one of my favorites so I'm not too sad to part with it.
27> My copy of "The Gargoyle" came with a note saying if I wanted a copy to be sent to a friend, to email them. I already did that, and my friend got the book, but you could try the address they gave me:
doubledaymarketing @ randomhouse.com
I used the subj line: "The Gargoyle" by Andrew Davidson
27, 28 - I tried that Keg about a week ago but i did not get a response. I guess that doesn't necessarily mean that I wont be getting it, though. :)
Elba, let me know when you get your copy back and I would be happy to take it off of your hands for you if i haven't gotten one by then.
Thanks for all of the intel!
Thanks Keg..I sent an email request and I hope that I can get a copy.
I am wanting to get a copy of The Lace Reader. I have the ARC of
Woman of a thousand Secrets by Barbara Wood to trade for a copy.
I just finished and posted a review here and on my blog. email me if you want to trade. Thanks!
I've got a copy of i,robot if anyone would like to read it. I'm willing to trade for another book, and if no one is interested in that, I 'd be happy to give it away, U.S. media mail only. Please send me a message.
I've finished reading Guernica and am ready to trade it or pass it on. Send me a message if interested, I'll mail to the U.S. or Canada.
I would also like to read The Lace Reader. At this point I don't have much to trade. I'm working on i, Robot but I would like to loan it to my brother when I'm finished. There are a couple of others that are spoken for. I just got notified that I'm getting Smoke Gets in Your Eyes: A Grace & Favor Mystery, but of course I don't have that yet and don't know when it will come.
Anyone want to shower pity on me?
I would love to have Sweetsmoke once someone is finished with it. I'd be willing to trade it for a bookmooch point, or another book on in my bookmooch inventory.
I have One More Year up on BookMooch right now, and I also have a copy of The Necklace by Cheryl Jarvis that I'm not likely to get to before its release date, so I thought I would offer it to someone here who may have missed it and will be able to review it. Leave a note on my profile and it's yours!
edit: The Necklace has been spoken for!
I would love love love to get my hands on The Fire by Katherine Neville, I know people are just receiving them, so take your time and enjoy, but when you're done... I'm on BookMooch so if that way works great if not message me and we can figure out something.
*edited to get right touchstones*
I'm a little bit late to this, but I've got copies of The White Mary and The Triumph of Deborah that I'd be interested in trading in for something else. I've been eying everyone's reviews of books such as The 19th Wife, The Lace Reader (don't worry, I stocked up on cucumber sandwiches just in case), The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher (which I was supposed to received but am beginning to accept is almost certainly lost in the mail) and a few others that I can't recall off-hand. I'm also dying to read The Wordy Shipmates, on the off chance that anyone who received it is interested in passing it along.
I might also have a few more to list soon, if I can A) finish them and B) bear to part ways with more books. I'm working on it. If anyone is interested in a trade, send over a comment. Hope springs eternal in the hearts and breasts of men, right?
I have a copy of Bliss to You: Trixie's Guide to a Happy Life if anyone is interested. It's a cute little book - a quick read.
I'm looking for Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott. I have some ARCs that I would be willing to trade.
Hi, I am newbie...I have a copy of American Wife that I would like to trade for a copy of Daniel Silva's Moscow Rules. Anyone interested? Also, it is too early to request, but would love to get a copy of The Fire by Katherine Neville when someone is willing to part with it. I have some other ARC's available for trade. Thanks!!
That's right; you don't always get a reply, and suddenly the UPS truck stops at your house.... I have done this a number of times, most recently to ask for an ARC of THE GATE HOUSE by Nelson DeMille. No response; less than a week later, the book arrived!!
I still have a copy of Richest Season that is available. I'm happy to send it to a new home for nothing. I know a lot of people here liked it, but I just couldn't get into it.
monkimom---I pm'd you. I'd love to snag a "Trixie Koontz" book...they always crack me up!
Anyone interested in giving THE FIRE by Katherine Neville, a new home with an avid reader?
Yes, that is correct, and I have notified those who thought otherwise. Thanks!!
I'm giving away or trading American Wife. Please PM me if you'd like it.
I just received a 2nd copy of When We Were Romans if anyone would like it. This one is a paperbck galley as opposed to a hardcover. PM me if you would like it!
I received an extra copy of Beat The Reaper if someone is interested.
I'm looking to find a new home for my copy of One More Year by Sana Krasikov. I'm willing to send this ARC anywhere in the U.S. in exchange for another ARC or book (preferably literary fiction). One More Year is a fabulous collection of short stories that is racking up the glowing reviews. See my positive review on Literary License here here.
If anyone has a copy of The Glass of Time that they might want to pass on, let me know!
I'd really like to read the Something Wickedly Weird books with my son. I'd love to have them once someone is finished reading/reviewing them. I have quite a few books listed on Bookmooch and have a number of ARCs that I am willing to trade once I finish with them.
I have Creepers if anyone's interested. If you're in the US I'll just send it along (although I can't promise it'll be very fast, just whenever I get around to it) without exchange, but of course I'd also be interested in trading, too. International folk, I'm sorry, but it's a bit too costly to send overseas for me at this time.
I have Sala's Gift: My Mother's Holocaust Story by Ann Kirschner, if you are interested. It is a hardcover copy.
If you replied to my previous post via a PM, when I signed on to LT, I had a message indicating that there was a "new comment" on my profile; however, when I checked there was no message.
Please send again! Thanks.
That message saying you had a new comment may have been a bug - it was reported in the bugs forum and has since been fixed. I also had a message too saying I had a new comment but there wasn't one.
Well something is wrong. My post #81 was sent as a PM to bostonbibliophile, and it is posted here. When I checked bostonbibliophile's profile, she received five copies of my message. I also received a message saying I had a new comment, but did not.
85- That's really weird! Over on bookmooch someone had to cancel one of my requests and when they did, it put in a feedback message that I used a few months ago for someone, what's up with that! Oh technology...
Okay I'm glad to hear about the new comment notification and then there not being one! I couldn't for the life of me find one!
88- Yeah, I was like what! So I quickly changed it to something that did make sense.
kymmayfield - I passed that on to julyso - you might pm her and see if she might send it to you. It was a good one, I enjoyed it.
kymmayfield, I have not read Loose Girl, yet, but I will gladly pass it on to you when I am done with it. Just pm me your address:)
I'm looking for a copy of The Fire by Katherine Neville. I'm a member of Bookmooch and would be willing to mooch a point (or two) to someone that has this.
I have a copy of Shades of Glory, my April ER book available for anybody who wants it. I put it on BookMooch, but nobody was interested. If anybody here wants it it's yours.
I'm looking for a copy of Confessions of a Contractor by Richard Murphy. I'd love to mooch it from someone that is also in the US via Bookmooch, I don't really have anything to trade myself at this time besides what's in my bookmooch inventory. Send me a personal message if willing, I'll see it sooner :)
I have an ARC of Bone by Bone from Carol O'Connell. I received it today and I now have two copies. I was hoping to trade for something else. I am really interested in a copy of My Husband's Sweethearts, Blood, Sweat and Tea or Beat the Reaper. However, if you don't have any of these, just let me know what you have, it may be of interest to me! Thanks.
I have finished Something Wickedly Weird: the icy hand and would like to trade with someone who received the first book. Leave me a message.
I have ARCs of The Gargoyle and Emily Post: Daughter of the Gilded Age, Mistress of American Manners.
I'd be happy to exchange either of these books with someone in the U.S. for another ARC or a regular book. Just leave me a message in my profile.
My review of The Gargoyle is here on my blog Literary License.
My review of Emily Post: Daughter of the Gilded Age, Mistress of American Manners is here.
I have an ARC of Bone by Bone by Carol O'Connell that I'd love to trade for another ARC. I read almost anything except romance and self help books. If no one is interested in a trade, I'll give it away, US or Canada only. I'm going to the post office tomorrow or Saturday.
I have a copy of The Organ Grinder and the Monkey (a Bostik request) that I'm supposed to review and it just isn't interesting to me. Normally I'd bite the bullet and make myself get through it, but while I was waiting for the book, the author sent me a note saying to be patient and wait a little longer. In the meantime, he sent me a copy of his first book, Swap. I read and reviewed that (even though I didn't request it) and I just didn't care for it. The second book seems to be similar and I don't want to spend my reading time going through TWO books like that. On the other hand, the author's note was so nice & I also noticed that the second book came directly from Amazon with an invoice of over $20 that the author obviously paid. Rather than writing a bad review on something I know does not interest me, I'd like to offer it to anyone that wants to take the time to read it, write an honest review, and send a link to the author. I know that just because his books aren't my cup of tea doesn't mean that others on LT won't enjoy them. (After all, I wasn't crazy about Twilight or The Lace Reader and both are popular here.) If you'd like me to send you the book to review, please PM me. (US or Japan residents only, please.)
I would love to read The Good Thief if anyone has one they want to let go of.
I would love to have a copy of the I,robot book if you are willing to send it to me, I live in West virginia. I am very excited to read and review some books. Thanks. Jen
I'd love to have Any Given Doomsday to read. I do not however, have the Gargoyle. Thanks. Jen
Still no takers for The Organ Grinder and the Monkey? Agree to review it and it's yours! Just PM me with your address.
120 - I want the Guernsey book too. Was thisclose to breaking my promise not to buy anything until the end of October today!
120, 121--Guernsey is such a quick read, you can just about read it while standing in the bookstore! Well, maybe I'm exaggerating, but not by too much...
122 - Ha! I seem to remember a discussion once on the ER thread likening reading a book in the bookstore without buying to stealing. It can be pretty tempting though.
I have a copy of Descartes Bones by Russell Shorto that I need someone to review if I send it to them. It's non-fiction. If you don't have a book blog of your own you can guest blog on mine. You should have some experience at writing reviews though. You can leave a message here at LT or email through my blog Fresh Ink Books:http://freshinkbooks.blogspot.com/
I have a copy of i robot listed on BookMooch. If you're not a member there send me a message and we can work something else out.
Hi: I am looking for:
Blood, Sweat and Tea
If anyone has any of these and would be interested in a trade, let me know (I do live in Canada). I have quite a few ARCS and non ARCS of recently published books to trade.
If I don't snag a copy of The lost episodes of Beatie Scareli I'm going to be looking to trade beg borrow or steal. So if you grab it and want to set up an advance agreement let me know.
My most recent arc recieved was Any Given Doomsday which I would happily trade but I feel like that would be a wrong evil thing to do see my review for the reason why- (and I felt kindhearted that day too... I couldn't write the review until I was having a "good person" day).
I have an ARC of Acedia and Me if anyone is interested in a swap. I don't really know what I'm looking for in exchange, though, lol.
I have a stack of ARCs that need new homes. Trade would be great, but isn't necessary and feel free to request more then one. PM me with your address.
When We Were Romans
Unthinkable Who Survives
My Fathers Paradise
Confesions of a Contractor
Ms. Hempel Chronicles
Gifted Gabaldon Sisters
Wow, those went fast! I have left Rain Song, Ms. Hempel, and Unthinkable.
133- I would be delighted to receive Rainsong and/or Ms. Hempel if they are still available...I can PM you my info.
I tried for an ARC of College Girl but never received a copy. If anyone has one they are willing to part with, I could mooch it on bookmooch or possibly do a trade (I don't have much for trade). I'm sure most people haven't even read their copies yet since it isn't going to be released just yet. Just thought I'd throw it out there! I'd just buy myself a copy but I rather dislike hardcovers!
I left a comment on your page (which I think is PMing on this board?) about the books. Thanks!
I have a copy of a A Jolly Good Fellow by Stephen V. Masse is anyone would like to trade for it...PM me:)
A Jolly Good Fellow has found a home.

The book is taken.
I've got a copy of Any Given Doomsday that I would be happy to pass along if anyone is interested. It wasn't my cup of tea, but I know a lot of people are still waiting for copies...
I also have a copy of The Mighty Queens of Freeville- I was twice blessed by Shelf Awareness today! Drop me a message if you are interested...
edited to say Mighty Queens of Freeville has been claimed...
I have a copy of A Thousand Veils. The only thing is right now I am only able to ship within Canada. Sorry about that. Also I have to ask that if you take it that it must be reviewed once you read it. Please PM me your address if interested.
I got 2 copies of American Rust today. The first person to PM me can have the second one. This book has been claimed.
I'm looking for a copy of College Girl. I have a bookmooch account and a few books in my inventory there that I could trade if you don't have bookmooch. :D
I've got a few ARCs - but they aren't very current. If anyone is interested in these books, leave a comment on my profile page.
Blue Genes by Christopher Lukas
The Mighty Queens of Freeville by Amy Dickinson - spoken for
When We Were Romans by Matthew Kneale - spoken for
Off the Deep End by Hodding Carter - spoken for
Acedia & Me by Kathleen Norris - spoken for
I have two historical romance novels that I received to review, but due to unforseen circumstances I am unable to do so. I would like to pass them along to someone with a blog that would be willing to read and review them on their blog (and send an email to the Sourcebooks rep when they're up) . The books are Midsummer Moon by Laura Kinsale and Pemberley by the Sea by Abigail Reynolds. Both books look really good (if you like that sort of thing), and they're final copies - not arcs. Please let me know if you're interested.
I'd love to review Deadlock by Iris Johansen. I'd be happy to pay for it, or trade something!
I have a bunch of ARCs and audios that need new homes:
Misadventures of Oliver Booth
Alex and Me
Roads to Quoz - unabridged audio
Travel Writing - unabridged audio
Things the Grandchildren Should Know - unabridged audio
A Most Wanted Man - abridged audio
I managed to snag a copy of Irish Country Christmas so I don't need that anymore. I am still looking for Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet , Book of Unholy Mischief, Finding Nouf, anything by Colin Cotterill, and anything else I haven't read!
hmm, touchstones not working, how do I fix that?
julyso, Your touchstone to American Rust goes to American Steel, not American Rust. I would recommend American Rust - I really enjoyed it. (review in my library - sorry, I don't know how to make a link to it.)
#165 julyso - go to the box where you list American Rust and click on the pencil to edit the book. When it shows the touchstone book, under American Steel,
you will see the word other, under the title, click on other and it will list other titles. When you find the one you want for American Rust, click on it and you will get the correct title for your touchstone then click on submit again and you are finished. Hope this helps for the future becuase you might have the wrong title come up again in the future and that is how you get the right title to post for the touchstone.
nsq0223, hanks, I didn't know I could do that! I got it fixed. I will definitely put that knowledge to good work in the future. Thanks:)
I'm wondering if anyone might be interested in a trade.
I'm hoping for:

The Glass of Time

Send me a PM if you are interested in a trade
Hi, I'm looking to trade, and I've got the following books to trade:
Etta by Gerald Kolpan (an ER ARC I snagged for November but received two copies of by mistake--looks like it's going to be a big book. Description: "Debut author Gerald Kolpan brings to life the extraordinary story of one of the twentieth century's most beautiful, brave, and mysterious women--as it might have been lived. Next to nothing is known about the real Etta Place--where she came from, what her real name was, or what became of her after her legendary romance with the Sundance Kid. This spellbinding novel imagines that Etta is a Pliladelphia debutante whose father's death leaves her orphaned, bankrupt, and a target of the infamous Blank Hand mafia. She then fells west using an alias...")
Immortal by Traci Slatton (a finished paperback I received from a publisher. Description: In the magestic heart of Florence, a beautiful golden-haired boy is abandoned and subjected to cruelty beyond words. But Luca Bastardo is anything but an ordinary boy. Across two centuries of passion and intrigue, Luca will discover an astonishing gift--one that will lead him to embrace the ancient mysteries of alchemy and healing to become a trusted confidant to the powerful Medicis...even as he faces persecution from a sadistic cabal determined to wrest his secrets for themselves.")
The Fireman's Wife by Jack Riggs (an ER ARC I snagged for October. Description: "An unflinching look at motherhood, heroism, love and loss, and the unexpected consequences of our most essential human choices, from the award-winning author of When the Finch Rises.")
Freeman Walker by David Allan Cates (an ER ARC I snagged for September, I think. Description: As the age of seven a mulatto slave boy, Jimmy Gates, is freed by his owner-father, separated from his mother and everything he holds dear, and sent to England for an education. Four years later when his father drowns at sea, leaving him bereft, Jimmy is apprenticed to a London workhouse where he spends six difficult years making saddles, reading heroic novels to his companions, finding the comfort of prostitutes, and discovering the inspirational speeches of an Irish revolutionary. At eighteen, dreaming himself a warrior and a hero, he returns to the States hoping to rescue his mother.")
PM me if you're interested in trading for any of these four books.

Thank you! now I've figured that out and I figured out tonight how to review books...yippee!! I'll get there yet ;))
tbbycatt - of course you will get there! :) I have found the people here are so wonderful, you need to know something, pose the question and invariably you will get the help you need.
I'm having fun exploring the site and getting to know people.
Another one I'd love to read if anyone has a copy they no longer want is The Plague by Joanne Dahme.
I posted this under November Book Watch, but thought someone here might be interested. This week I received an extra copy of Bringing Tony Home by Tissa Abeysekara. I don't know if it was a hint to start reading the book, but I am almost finished with the first copy. Let me know if you are interested.
I have an extra copy of Vilnius Poker by Ricardas Gavelis if anyone is interested. I'm hoping to pass this on to someone who will review it after they read it.
This book has been claimed.
I ended up with 2 copies of The Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet - I'll be happy to send the extra along to the first person who claims it.
This book is claimed.
I saw the ad for this in today's Shelf Awareness newsletter-- does anyone have a copy of Boca Knights (touchstone not working) they'd be willing to pass on to me? (Or does anyone have an email for Macmillan where I can cold request a copy?)
Edit: Ha! Nevermind, I found an email address on the author's website. :D
Hi, I'm looking to trade, and I've got the following books to trade:
A Dangerous Affair by Caro Peacock (an ARC I snagged from HarperCollins via First Look. This is an entertaining historical mystery set in Victorian London. A public fight between two of London't most beautiful dancers has amused fashionable sociate--until one is dead from poison and the other is facing the hangman's noose. With the help of some of London's most prominent citizens--including Disraeli himself--Liberty decides to intervene, enen though it is against her own best interests and causes her heartache.)
Etta by Gerald Kolpan (an ER ARC I snagged for November but received two copies of by mistake--looks like it's going to be a much-publicized book.
The Fireman's Wife by Jack Riggs (an ER ARC I snagged for October. I thought this one was a really good read. Description: "An unflinching look at motherhood, heroism, love and loss, and the unexpected consequences of our most essential human choices, from the award-winning author of When the Finch Rises.")
Freeman Walker by David Allan Cates (an ER ARC I snagged for September, I think. This one is a great historical novel about early America, including the California gold rush.
These are probably longshots but if anyone is finished with these books and would be willing to trade for them, please PM me (I'd be happy to review them on my blog as well :)
Thirteen Reasons Why
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
The House on Tradd Street
Who by Fire: A Novel (P.S.)
Last year, I received an ARC of When One Man Dies by Dave White from the Read It Forward program. It wasn't the book I had requested, but I thought I'd give it a try. Turns out it's not my cup a tea at all, so I'd be happy to pass it on to someone else who's interested in it. (Note that the book was published in 2007!)
Please PM me if you're interested (U.S. and Canada only please).
This book has been claimed.
