As I finish up my ARCs, I usually want to keep them moving. I'd prefer to give them to someone who will read and review them, since I think it's the most fun part of receiving free books!

I have available, if anyone is interested, I, robot. I don't need to be compensated for postage, but I can't afford to send it outside of America, sorry!

(Thanks, lovemybooks for taking care of my wish for The Gargoyle!)

I have an extra copy of the gargoyle. i'll send it with the arc you won on my blog. (you are the same person who won guardian right?)

Yup, that's me - thank you so much!

Jul 13, 2008, 8:29am (top)Message 5: gwendolyndawson

I want to read The Gargoyle if anyone has an extra copy. In exchange, I'm happy to swap another ARC (I've got a stack of them). If you've got an extra copy of The Gargoyle and are interested in an exchange, let me know, and I'll send you the list of what I've got so you can see if anything is appealing.

I'd love to read The Stories of Devil-Girl if anyone has a copy. I have lots of stuff to trade.

Jul 13, 2008, 1:56pm (top)Message 7: thetometraveller

I've tried every way that I can think of to get a copy of The Good Thief by Hannah Tinti, including contacting the author, but have had no luck. I did request it thru ER but don't hold out much hope. If anyone is willing to part with a copy I have a nice hardback of Stealing Athena by Karen Essex that I would be glad to trade.

Jul 14, 2008, 9:02am (top)Message 8: mlschmidt

I have a copy of Loose Girl if anyone would like it

Jul 14, 2008, 6:26pm (top)Message 9: jenlaw77

I have copies of A Boy and his leprechaun by Jeremy McGuire, Boone's Creek by Kathryn Neff Perr and Tarnished Beauty by Cecilia Samartin if anyone is interested. I'd prefer to trade for other ARCs so if you have something you are willing to trade for one, or all of these, send me a PM or leave me a message here.

I'm looking for a copy of The Aviary Gate. I'd be willing to trade this for any (or all!) of the books I listed in #9.

Swapna, Did you like The Forbidden Daughter, I got a copy too, but haven't got around to reading it yet. I didn't see a review of it yet on your site:)

Jul 17, 2008, 6:58pm (top)Message 24: skrishna

I actually got two copies - a bound copy and an unbound. So I figured I'd trade the unbound one away! I haven't read it yet, but I'm planning on it this week. I really liked The Dowry Bride

Jul 17, 2008, 8:11pm (top)Message 25: nktk

I haven't read any of her books but this one does sounds good:) That's encouraging you liked her other book! Thanks! Tracy

Jul 17, 2008, 11:02pm (top)Message 26: Belladonna1975

I am still trying to score a copy of The Gargoyle. I am new to the whole ARC thing so I don't really have much to trade.

Jul 18, 2008, 10:04am (top)Message 27: elbakerone

Bella - My copy is on loan right now, but I can let you know when I get it back - unless you get one sooner. It wasn't one of my favorites so I'm not too sad to part with it.

Jul 18, 2008, 3:14pm (top)Message 28: Kegsoccer

27> My copy of "The Gargoyle" came with a note saying if I wanted a copy to be sent to a friend, to email them. I already did that, and my friend got the book, but you could try the address they gave me:

doubledaymarketing @ randomhouse.com

I used the subj line: "The Gargoyle" by Andrew Davidson

Jul 18, 2008, 7:56pm (top)Message 29: Belladonna1975

27, 28 - I tried that Keg about a week ago but i did not get a response. I guess that doesn't necessarily mean that I wont be getting it, though. :)
Elba, let me know when you get your copy back and I would be happy to take it off of your hands for you if i haven't gotten one by then.

Thanks for all of the intel!

I finished Living Dead Girl which I would be willing to swap for American Wife Heretic's Daughter or The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher

Somehow, I know these don't seem like fair trades since Living Dead Girl is so slender a novel!

Jul 20, 2008, 2:21pm (top)Message 31: redladysbooks

Thanks Keg..I sent an email request and I hope that I can get a copy.

I am wanting to get a copy of The Lace Reader. I have the ARC of
Woman of a thousand Secrets by Barbara Wood to trade for a copy.
I just finished and posted a review here and on my blog. email me if you want to trade. Thanks!

Jul 26, 2008, 4:16pm (top)Message 36: DianeS

I would also like to read The Lace Reader. At this point I don't have much to trade. I'm working on i, Robot but I would like to loan it to my brother when I'm finished. There are a couple of others that are spoken for. I just got notified that I'm getting Smoke Gets in Your Eyes: A Grace & Favor Mystery, but of course I don't have that yet and don't know when it will come.

I have One More Year up on BookMooch right now, and I also have a copy of The Necklace by Cheryl Jarvis that I'm not likely to get to before its release date, so I thought I would offer it to someone here who may have missed it and will be able to review it. It's not an ARC, but hey, a free book is a free book, right?

Aug 6, 2008, 4:40pm (top)Message 45: Kplatypus

I'm a little bit late to this, but I've got copies of The White Mary and The Triumph of Deborah that I'd be interested in trading in for something else. I've been eying everyone's reviews of books such as The 19th Wife, The Lace Reader (don't worry, I stocked up on cucumber sandwiches just in case), The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher (which I was supposed to received but am beginning to accept is almost certainly lost in the mail) and a few others that I can't recall off-hand. I'm also dying to read The Wordy Shipmates, on the off chance that anyone who received it is interested in passing it along.

I might also have a few more to list soon, if I can A) finish them and B) bear to part ways with more books. I'm working on it. If anyone is interested in a trade, send over a comment. Hope springs eternal in the hearts and breasts of men, right?

I've got a copy of Midwife of the Blue Ridge by Christine Blevins and also The Good Thief by Hannah Tinti. I'd like to exchange these for literary fiction, if possible. Please send me a message if you're interested.

Sep 19, 2008, 1:03pm (top)Message 111: JGoto

I have a copy of The Organ Grinder and the Monkey (a Bostik request) that I'm supposed to review and it just isn't interesting to me. Normally I'd bite the bullet and make myself get through it, but while I was waiting for the book, the author sent me a note saying to be patient and wait a little longer. In the meantime, he sent me a copy of his first book, Swap. I read and reviewed that (even though I didn't request it) and I just didn't care for it. The second book seems to be similar and I don't want to spend my reading time going through TWO books like that. On the other hand, the author's note was so nice & I also noticed that the second book came directly from Amazon with an invoice of over $20 that the author obviously paid. Rather than writing a bad review on something I know does not interest me, I'd like to offer it to anyone that wants to take the time to read it, write an honest review, and send a link to the author. I know that just because his books aren't my cup of tea doesn't mean that others on LT won't enjoy them. (After all, I wasn't crazy about Twilight or The Lace Reader and both are popular here.) If you'd like me to send you the book to review, please PM me. (US or Japan residents only, please.)

Sep 19, 2008, 2:43pm (top)Message 112: gwendolyndawson

The Good Thief is gone, but I still have Midwife of the Blue Ridge by Christine Blevins. This is historical fiction. I'd like to exchange this for historical and/or literary fiction, if possible. Please send me a message if you're interested. Thanks!

120, 121--Guernsey is such a quick read, you can just about read it while standing in the bookstore! Well, maybe I'm exaggerating, but not by too much...

Sep 22, 2008, 4:38pm (top)Message 123: lenoreva

122 - Ha! I seem to remember a discussion once on the ER thread likening reading a book in the bookstore without buying to stealing. It can be pretty tempting though.

Oct 1, 2008, 9:46am (top)Message 129: Jacey25

If I don't snag a copy of The lost episodes of Beatie Scareli I'm going to be looking to trade beg borrow or steal. So if you grab it and want to set up an advance agreement let me know.
My most recent arc recieved was Any Given Doomsday which I would happily trade but I feel like that would be a wrong evil thing to do see my review for the reason why- (and I felt kindhearted that day too... I couldn't write the review until I was having a "good person" day).

Oct 1, 2008, 11:39am (top)Message 130: mcna217

I have two historical romance novels that I received to review, but due to unforseen circumstances I am unable to do so. I would like to pass them along to someone with a blog that would be willing to read and review them on their blog (and send an email to the Sourcebooks rep when they're up) . The books are Midsummer Moon by Laura Kinsale and Pemberley by the Sea by Abigail Reynolds. Both books look really good (if you like that sort of thing), and they're final copies - not arcs. Please let me know if you're interested.

Thanks!

julyso, Your touchstone to American Rust goes to American Steel, not American Rust. I would recommend American Rust - I really enjoyed it. (review in my library - sorry, I don't know how to make a link to it.)

Dec 18, 2008, 8:18pm (top)Message 165: julyso

JGoto,
Yeah, I know, but I didn't know how to fix it! Thanks, though:)

Dec 19, 2008, 7:42am (top)Message 166: nsg0223

#165 julyso - go to the box where you list American Rust and click on the pencil to edit the book. When it shows the touchstone book, under American Steel,
you will see the word other, under the title, click on other and it will list other titles. When you find the one you want for American Rust, click on it and you will get the correct title for your touchstone then click on submit again and you are finished. Hope this helps for the future becuase you might have the wrong title come up again in the future and that is how you get the right title to post for the touchstone.

Hi, I'm looking to trade, and I've got the following books to trade:

Etta by Gerald Kolpan (an ER ARC I snagged for November but received two copies of by mistake--looks like it's going to be a big book. Description: "Debut author Gerald Kolpan brings to life the extraordinary story of one of the twentieth century's most beautiful, brave, and mysterious women--as it might have been lived. Next to nothing is known about the real Etta Place--where she came from, what her real name was, or what became of her after her legendary romance with the Sundance Kid. This spellbinding novel imagines that Etta is a Pliladelphia debutante whose father's death leaves her orphaned, bankrupt, and a target of the infamous Blank Hand mafia. She then fells west using an alias...")

Immortal by Traci Slatton (a finished paperback I received from a publisher. Description: In the magestic heart of Florence, a beautiful golden-haired boy is abandoned and subjected to cruelty beyond words. But Luca Bastardo is anything but an ordinary boy. Across two centuries of passion and intrigue, Luca will discover an astonishing gift--one that will lead him to embrace the ancient mysteries of alchemy and healing to become a trusted confidant to the powerful Medicis...even as he faces persecution from a sadistic cabal determined to wrest his secrets for themselves.")

The Fireman's Wife by Jack Riggs (an ER ARC I snagged for October. Description: "An unflinching look at motherhood, heroism, love and loss, and the unexpected consequences of our most essential human choices, from the award-winning author of When the Finch Rises.")

Freeman Walker by David Allan Cates (an ER ARC I snagged for September, I think. Description: As the age of seven a mulatto slave boy, Jimmy Gates, is freed by his owner-father, separated from his mother and everything he holds dear, and sent to England for an education. Four years later when his father drowns at sea, leaving him bereft, Jimmy is apprenticed to a London workhouse where he spends six difficult years making saddles, reading heroic novels to his companions, finding the comfort of prostitutes, and discovering the inspirational speeches of an Irish revolutionary. At eighteen, dreaming himself a warrior and a hero, he returns to the States hoping to rescue his mother.")

PM me if you're interested in trading for any of these four books.

Thanks!

A Dangerous Affair by Caro Peacock (an ARC I snagged from HarperCollins via First Look. This is an entertaining historical mystery set in Victorian London. A public fight between two of London't most beautiful dancers has amused fashionable sociate--until one is dead from poison and the other is facing the hangman's noose. With the help of some of London's most prominent citizens--including Disraeli himself--Liberty decides to intervene, enen though it is against her own best interests and causes her heartache.)

Etta by Gerald Kolpan (an ER ARC I snagged for November but received two copies of by mistake--looks like it's going to be a much-publicized book.

The Fireman's Wife by Jack Riggs (an ER ARC I snagged for October. I thought this one was a really good read. Description: "An unflinching look at motherhood, heroism, love and loss, and the unexpected consequences of our most essential human choices, from the award-winning author of When the Finch Rises.")

Freeman Walker by David Allan Cates (an ER ARC I snagged for September, I think. This one is a great historical novel about early America, including the California gold rush.

Thanks!

Last year, I received an ARC of When One Man Dies by Dave White from the Read It Forward program. It wasn't the book I had requested, but I thought I'd give it a try. Turns out it's not my cup a tea at all, so I'd be happy to pass it on to someone else who's interested in it. (Note that the book was published in 2007!)

Please PM me if you're interested (U.S. and Canada only please).

This book has been claimed.
