Have any of you bloggers been a host for a virtual blog tour? That's another way to get free books. I'm currently looking for tour hosts.

I've hosted one author last month and will be doing another next month for 'authors on tour', if that's the kind of thing you mean?

Oh and (like everyone else) I'll be having J. Scott Savage on my blog for the Farworld virtual tour.

What kind of books are you offering?

Hi Kegsoccer, Yes, it is like that! I'm coordinating tours for two books now for October. One is a short story collection set in New York, the other is historical fiction. Email me for more info!

Well, I'm hosting a tour for some company called TLC Blog Tours in September...you may have heard of it? :) I've also worked with Pump Up Your Book Promotion, The Blog Tour Spot, and on my personal blog all of the Christian blog tours.

I haven't yet either, but I would love to get involved, especially regarding your historical fiction tour! I also left a comment on your website, but here is a link to my blog again just in case. =)

Ooooh, I'd love to do this in Readerville

Hi everyone, thank you for the responses. I am busy busy checking out everyone's blogs!!

I'm finished booking the NYC short story collection (although if you're from New York I will squeeze you in!!) and just starting to book the historical fiction one. But I will be needing tour hosts on an ongoing basis, for all different kinds of books.

Thanks again!

>8 littlebookworm, I see from your LT profile that you've already read the historical fiction book that I'm coordinating a tour for.. I'm off to find your review!

I just hosted the author of The Questory of Root Karbunkulus on my blog. It is linked on my profile. I love historical fiction, so I might be interested.

Could someone explain for me what a blog tour is exactly? I saw a list of blogs who will be participating in one and it looked interesting. But what do the non-host bloggers do as their part? Thank you in advance.

Oct 29, 2008, 1:16pm (top)Message 16: lovemybooks

I don't think any non-host blogs do anything! :)

The idea of a blog tour is that a book travels from blog to blog....there are a variety of ways to organize them.

#15, in a blog tour usually a publicist will arrange a series of dates with a series of bloggers- blogger A does a review or whatever- interview, giveaway, etc.- on one day, and then blogger B, and so forth. maybe all participants post on a single day, if that's what the publicist wants. participants link to each other often as well and publicise upcoming posts in the series. if you're not participating you don't have to do anything.

I've never hosted a blog tour but I'd love to get involved. I do enjoy historical fiction a lot even though my blog doesn't currently reflect this. (I was on a bit of a fantasy kick when I got it started.) My posting has been a bit slower lately because I had a baby two weeks ago but as we settle into a routine I really hope to be posting more regularly again.

My blog is http://librarygirlreads.blogspot.com

>18 Congratulations DonnerLibrary! I hope you and the baby are doing well :)
