Between work, politics and changing soiled diapers I have found the time to read 170 pages of The Gathering Storm. 2HarmlessTedWell: I finished part 1, and I must say, Churchill does have singular command of the English language and certainly knows how to write. I am now 50 pages into Their finest hour. 3CSLI spotted a box set of Churchills History of the English Speaking Peoples at a booksale today, but unfortunately decided against it seeing as it was in poor condition (cover of the first volume was ripped off). Saddening. I could have used more Churchill after finishing his war memoirs two weeks ago. 4HarmlessTedAfter reading the first two volumes of Churchill's war memoirs, I needed a change in style and started Rick Atkinson's An Army At Dawn, in which Churchill plays only a minor part. | Group: The Winston Churchill Discussion Group27 members 68 messages AboutThis topic is not marked as primarily about any work, author or other topic. |
