Maybe (and this is only a suggestion) we could establish some general ball-park times / days... for the Chat Room?

Let's say, and again this is just a suggestion, 8PM Friday Evening.

Then it doesn't matter where in the world you are, if it's 8pm Friday Evening where you live, then that's GD Chat time. It would mean that people in similar time zones would all know that someone *could* be in there, rather than just picking a random five minutes at any point on any day - and also, anyone from a different part of the world would only need to figure out when 8PM Friday is in any other given time zone and they could join in under the same assumption that someone *could* be there.

Now, I'm sure that someone will a) tell me that this is already happening and that I'm the one who hasn't picked up on it yet, or b) that this is a reasonable idea, but what is going to attract people to this 8pm Friday slot?

...I also suggest that we have some kind of Chat Theme Schedule. Nothing set in stone, nothing that can't (in true GD spirit) wander off into strange and completely unexpected places... but some kind of weekly GD-style theme (Fantasy, Dragons, Cheese, Roomba Maintenance, hell perhaps even Books!) that's listed somewhere (say, the GD group page?) so that on any given Friday people will know what the general theme is - and therefore perhaps may wish to chat about that?

What do we think? Is it an interesting idea, or have I just had too much coffee this morning?????

I do know my spanglish, I was desperate to share an ale and a joke or two, so I thought if I mispell some words, maybe someone would come on. Alas, it did not work. Even you couldn't stay around.

Sometimes when I am looking for some one to chat with I go look at some other threads and throw a "come to chat" into them, too. Sometimes that works. Sometimes not so much. It is kind of a gamble.

OK - 8ish UK time is 4 ish US time - I am assuming east coast US time which is 3 hours later than my time... but more interesting is this question: Are we talking 8 PM? UK, therefore 4PM eastcoast US, and 1 PM westcoast US?

I'll try to pay attention and be there. If it is 8 in the morning UK, 4 in the morning New York, and 1 in the morning Seattle, you probably will not see me. LOL
