I've never been able to get through anything my husband picked out. The only time we read the same books is when he reads something I brought home for me. He must like them, because more and more he asks me to get him something new to read! 3JolesSo, I'm starting mine now...I just can't wait until January, but I'm only giving myself until 9/9/09 to finish. So that's still under a year... I think that's fair. 4tututhefirstThanks Jolene for the suggestion to X the books we've read. I've been trying to figure out how we will know when someone has read a book. I've promised myself to put the completed date in the book record if I own it, and do a review, but several books on my list are coming from the public library (after the last month, i'm certainly not rich enough to buy every book i want to read). I often buy a book AFTER i've read it the first time, so I only add books that I want to stay close to in my personal library. Looking forward to seeeing your list fill out. 5RidgewayGirlI like the music category. Are you only doing non-fiction, or are you also looking at fiction with a musical theme? 6JolesI'm undecided on the Non-Fic/Fic side of my music category. Most of the Fiction books in that category I have already read and I have a ton of Non-Fic sitting around to be devoured, which was my purpose of adding the category to begin with. So I'll probably stay with the Non-Fic books, only because I already have tons of them to work on. 7_Zoe_>4 Another option is using strikethrough: (strike) book title here (/strike), but with triangular brackets 9JolesYa know, I saw that in the store and thought about picking it up, but I'd already spent so much already. I never get away with less than $100 when I go to a bookstore even if I only go in for one thing!!! 10cyderryHi, Jolene. Finally getting a chance to read all the threads. I see that you have a category for biography/history. Have you thought about the US Presidents Challenge? You could fill in the entire category and still have room for more next year(2010). We'd love to have you join us. Cheli 11JolesI'll have to look into the US Presidents Challenge, but I don't know that I could deal with that right now. Eventually I'd like to read about all of them, but with what I have on my shelves right now biography-wise I have my work cut out for me. I'll have to point my mom in that direction. She's always been interested in reading about the presidents. | Group: 999 Challenge289 members 20,056 messages AboutThis topic is not marked as primarily about any work, author or other topic.
