Hello fellow LTers,

I just started a book club and for the life of us, we can't think of a book club name we all like! Maybe we're trying too hard, I don't know! Does anyone have any suggestions? :)

Hmm, I've never actually named a book club. I'm interested to see people's suggestions.

We went with our subdivision name since originally all or members were from there - the Redbud Bookclub. That was 11 years ago. There are 12 of us, and currently, only 4 live there. But the name has stuck.

Questions that might suggest a name are: What brought you all together? What type of literature is going to be the focus? Is there an age affinity? (20-somethings or 30-somethings, etc.?) How often will you meet? Is there a political hook? Religious hook? etc.

Have fun!

yea we tried all that, we wanted something more based on a book or clever pun, our location and age seemed like a not so unique name and we have no focus, I am letting each member pick a book free of restrictions. So I don't know!

I'm ready to give up and just name us the peanut butter book club, simply because I like the way it sounds.

How about the "Corner Street Bookers"? Or " We're All the Page"? Or "Poetry, Page, Romances and Rhyme"?

"On the Same Page"
Can you share some info, e.g. are you all women, what city do you live in, etc.

all women, in our 20s, live in boston. but none of that seemed interesting enough to make a name out of! I wanted something fun :)

Um, not interesting enough? Women? Women that read? Women that read and could go to a Red Sox game? Sounds quite interesting to me -- if I wasn't married, old enough to be your... older brother, and addicted to November temps above 70, I'd come out and join your nameless book group myself!

Ooo, I like the Boston Book Party.

I'd have a hard time being part of a group with Babes in the name myself.

>12 SqueakyChu: while BosTOME is certainly clever, I'm fond of the beantown booksters or the beantown book babes.

A variation would be Read Sox Nation.

Good one Larxol! or the Boston Read Sox.

What about BookBites ... especially if, like my bookclub, we find ourselves nibbling on snacks as much as we discuss the books we've read. ;-)
