Ladies & Gentlemen,

I'm looking for a general introduction to Bostonian history, my particular area of interest is the first half of the 20th century and the "Boston Brahmins", but a basic grounding is mainly what I'm after.

Could anybody point me in the right direction?

Regards,

Eamon

I think the best known old book on this subject (not academic) is The Proper Bostonians by ClevelandAmory.
