Happy T-day!
Here's a new, faster loading topic for your mooching pleasure. :-)
Carry on.
Gail
Thank you so much!
I would love to find any Sookie Sookhouse books that were written. Since True Blood has come out on HBO, I have become a fan, but everytime I grab a book that was pushed to me from my wishlist, it has been reserved or already mooched. :(
Anyone have any Sookie Sookhouse books they are willing to part with?

happy Day of the Gobblers, americanos!
My lovely wife is looking for these books by Eliot Pattison:
Prayer of the Dragon
Bone Mountain
Beautiful Ghosts
I'm more than happy to smooch extra points for them.
~Andrew
im looking for the God delusion if anyone has it!
#2 You might want to check out the Sookie books from the library before you spend points on them. They are quite different from show. This season is based on the first book
Dead Until Dark. If you have fallen in love with any of the characters on the show, you might be disappointed in how they are portrayed in the books. And I know from experience they are very hard to get through book mooch! Charlaine Harris fans are rabid in our devotion.
I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have any like-new or giftable cookbooks? I'm looking for something to give to my friend and my uncle.... I figure it is worth a try.

#6: Hi Macophile, I have some and could send your way. Anything specific you have in mind? If small enough, I could send quicker than surface mail :-) Let me search through the shelves first.
Does anyone have a copy of
Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates. It supposed to be incredible and I'd like to read it before the film comes out. Thanks!
>8 msf59
I PM'd you.
> saratoga99- You are wonderful! Thanks!
Hi Libreria- Let me know what you might have in your "give away pile".... I am truly appreciative!
I have a copy of
The Kite Runner, not in the greatest shape (front cover is sort of ripped), but I see that it's on a lot of wishlists on BookMooch, so . . . anyone want it? I've reserved it for the week in case anyone on LT wants it, so let me know.
Macophile, I have a very nice and new gift book here called AROMATIC GIFTS Scented Ideas from Kitchen and Garden ISBN is 185368600x. You might want to consider. Let me know :-)

Hmm... neither one of them is really into gossip... But the Mrs. Fields one might be good for my friend. (Who doesn't love chocolate? lol.) If you are sure that is in your "give away pile" I'd be glad to take it off your hands...
As for my uncle: I'm not looking for anything too ethnic, as my uncle is still only beginning to flex his cooking muscles (Althogh, he isn't too bad with Italian food) My Uncle does like the Cook's Illustrated books....
But beggars can't be choosers. ;) lol. So I'd appreciate anything if you think they are appropriate for a man. :)
Hi Macophile, I emailed you about the cookbooks :-)
Do let me know.

two for one deal for LT-ers.
Please help make my move easier and find homes for these lovely books! I haven't added these to my BM inventory yet because I want LT-ers to have first pick, but after next week or so, they all go up.

#25 - I did enjoy
Peripheral Vision. I'll be writing my review later today. It opened up more and more as the story went on, which I suppose is appropriate given the title.
My review is now up if you're interested.

I've been clearing out my shelves (preparing for the influx of birthday and Xmas books) and have a couple of books which are on 20+ wishlists. I've got some great books and recommendations from this thread so I'll offer them here first:
Purple Hibiscus by
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie(Very good condition, I bought it new and read it once) TAKEN
Elective Affinities by Goethe
(1982 Penguin Classic- fading, bending to the cover. Pages yellowed, dusty smelling and some light pencil underlining. The edge of the book looks like it got a little wet and there is a little warping and what looks like brown foxing where it got wet.)
I also have a lovely little red New University Society version of
Bacon's essays. Gold lettering on the front and spine, occasional pencil marks, slightly yellowed pages, some shelfwear. It doesnt have a date but the cover especially is in good condition.
A. S Neill's
Summerhill about the experimental school.
(1968 edition, pages yellowed, slight dusty smell. Front cover faded and rubbed a little. Back cover has been torn and has some black marks with some bending.)
I send worldwide, but wont be able to send out any of these until after Xmas because the queues in my local post office are out the door crazy and I have a very impatient 3 year old!
More to follow as I pulled these off the first double stacked shelf on my smallest bookcase.

I'm going to list
The Reader by Bernhard Schlink (The touchstones are off). It's an Oprah Selection from a few years ago and a film starring Kate Winslet, which opens soon. It's a good book! Let me know!

Yay! I got Water for Elephants!
#35- Yes, you did! Good for you.
Middlesex is still available if there are any takers...
I would like to offer
Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris. It has bookcrossing stickers and stamps. It is not a collector's copy. Is anyone interested?
yes please if I am quick enough
Thanks talya.. much appreciated.
It's yours Oz, I'll go reserve it now
does anyone happen to have a book on digital photography on bookmooch?
Hi welsh-green, I have several books but not listed on bookmooch. would you have a specific title in mind? Although I am set to send to my country only, I have made exceptions in recent weeks. Let me know how I can help you. And how soon would you need it? I am all the way here in the Philippines.
im in no rush, do you have them listed on here? thanks for getting back to me! Oh did you get the Mao book?
Message edited by its author, Dec 16, 2008, 2:13pm.
Hi there, I've got
The Kite Runner in hardcover to be put on bookmooch! With as many people as there are on BM who've wishlisted it, I thought to ask if any of them are here.
Nota bene: this isn't a collector's copy by any means: the binding's a little off, and it's clearly gotten a bit wet before, judging by the red bleed on the cover page. It's clearly been well read, but all the pages are there and there's still a slipjacket!
Respond with your BM user name, and I'll reserve it for you! Being unemployed, it's hard for me to send abroad - I've a chance this will change in January, but otherwise I'll be happy to hold on to it if you need an angel reservation.
Any children's books in good condition? It is my nephew's 2nd bday soon, and I'm gathering good books for a package for him. I'm the "book Aunt" -- most of his books come from me.
thanks,
-VS (bookmooch ID is "mollydog")
>14 I would love the Tapas book if you still have it and want to part with it.
Thank you!
Thanks, Macophile -- I remember that one, too - great book - but can't tell which copy is yours on bookmooch (is your user id different on that site?). what is the condition of the book?
I have
Atonement to give away. Send me a PM if you want it, and I'll reserve it for you.
No takers yet, so I went ahead and listed it. If interested, here is the link:

vssmith - if you click on Macophile's profile it will take you to her/his LT profile page and from there you can click on Bookmooch and will take you to her page.
Sorry about that... my name is the same here and on BookMooch (It helps avoid confusion, both others, and mine.. I can't remember too many usernames!)
As for the book condition it is in "Very good condition. Name written on front page inside cover. No damage to pages."
You could probably cover the name with a "this book belongs to:____" sticker.
I'd like both of those. Are they still available?
Both gone!!

Anyone have a copy of
Out Stealing Horses by Per Petterson? This book has gotten such grand reviews, I have to check it out! Very tough to get on BM.
I hope someone has a copy of
The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon? It's the only book I need to complete the series and start reading....
I have a copy of
Me talk Pretty One Day by
David Sedaris. HOWEVER: It is a former library copy with a somewhat loose (hardcover) spine. By this I mean that it is floppy. Also, large chunks of the front and back dust jacket/plastic covering are cut out where the barcodes used to be. It has usual markings of stamps and such. If anyone is interested, let me know. I will hold off posting it for a week or so.
Anyone want a water damaged copy of Good Omens? It's not badly damaged or stained, just wrinkled pages. 3-1 (US & Canada) / 2-2 (intl) apply for the rest of my inventory. :)
Message edited by its author, Jan 5, 2009, 5:35pm.
Is anyone looking for The Young Unicorns by Madeleine L'Engle? (Cover same as
this). It is in the same condition as when I received it (I haven't read it). The outer cover needs glueing at the spine but if it weren't for that it would be good, near very good condition (outwardly appears fine with the spine, until you open the first page -- it is starting to come away and all it needs is glueing and reinforcing on the first page). None of the pages are loose and the binding in fact looks good otherwise.
Anybody have these? Let me know please. Thanks!
Ticket to Ride by Dennis Potter
Einstein's Dreams by Lightman
Looking for a copy of

Has anyone heard of the "Longman Cardinal Edition" of
Merchant of Venice ?
I can't seem to find record of it, but my Professor wants us to have this copy...
There's a Longman Cultural Edition available on BookMooch - I just looked at it.
I just picked up a copy of
The Sunne in Splendour and a copy of
Here Be Dragons by
Sharon Kay Penman and thought I would see if anyone here wants them. Both copies are used and the copy of
Here Be Dragons has this cover
http://www.amazon.com/Here-Dragons-Sharo... let me know and I will reserve them for you. I'll wait and put them on Bookmooch tonight if I haven't heard from anyone.
Sorry, Both books are gone.
DevourerOfBooks - I'll keep my eye open for another copy of Here Be Dragons, the trift stores around here usually have a copy or two.

Does anyone have any audio books on CD (I prefer unabridged) that are mystery or thriller or suspense books that I might mooch?
Message edited by its author, Feb 7, 2009, 12:34am.
I had a bad swapping experience and mistakenly ended up with a copy of The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat and have had no communication from the other party. It's on quite a few wishlists, so I thought I'd put it up for grabs here before listing it. Please leave me a profile comment in addition to posting here, as my LT time is unfortunately limited these days :)I'm also listing a slew of other books today; I haven't got the time to check them all for wishlisted status, but several of the better known titles are listed below so you can keep an eye out. It would be great if hardcovers were mooched with a second book, but not necessary, and
Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes is a truly beat up reading copy that I'll smooch back the point to anyone who wants it along with one or more other titles. If you've not read it, it truly is an amazing story that I think everyone should read at least once. Thanks, all; happy mooching!
How to be Good, Nick Hornby
Loves Music, Loves to Dance, Mary Higgins Clark (Hardcover)
A Prisoner of Birth, Jeffrey Archer (Hardcover)
From Potter's Field, Patricia Cornwell

Anyone have an unwanted copy of
Good Omens?
*I am NOT getting my hopes high, NOT getting my hopes high*
>># 96 girlunderglass- I might have one, but it is an older version. From 1990. (I bought it used). It looks well read ( the pages are a little curled in places on the edges/top) but it is a great reading copy. no smells or stains... it just looks extremely well read...

If anyone has a nice copy of
Free-range knitter: The yarn harlot writes again I would be so happy... I'm looking for something to give to my aunt for her birthday and this is the one thing I am positive she would love (she can be picky!) :P
I am looking for a copy of
The Lemon Tree by Sandy Tolan. Our book group is discussing it in May.
I offered to purchase copies of the book for members at Amazon; they had seven left at a bargain price. I placed them in my cart, and today there were only four. Four members have asked me to order them, so I am odd (wo)man out.
Thank you.
Postscript: make that two copies...the facilitator doesn't have a copy either.
Will be happy to offer other books in exchanges.

# 103
Have you tried ABE Books (Advanced Book Exchange) ?
http://www.abebooks.comIt searches used book dealers all over the world, but the majority of them are in the US. I had a quick peek, and found quite a few copies of
The Lemon Tree in various condition and price ranges.
Thank you so very much!! I will do that right now.
You may also want to try bookfinder.com- it searches a huge list of new and used book sites. I've found lots of books there.
Best of luck!
I will check it out today. Thanks so much for your input.
I have accumulated a ton of points and have to decided to try to spend them on some children's books for my mom's first-grade classroom. She needs biographies of famous people that are written for young children (i.e., not chapter books). I don't have specific titles. If anyone has anything like this, please let me know!
Thanks!
There are a couple of series of bios of the US presidents written for kids, one from Time and another called "Getting to Know the US Presidents"; the latter are all 32 pp., I think, and targeted for ages 9-12, so maybe only a bit older than the first graders.
(But I don't see any of these on BookMooch, sorry to say . . .)
I did find some very random things by just searching on "biography children", though.
I also recently found for a young reader a selection of books on famous shipwrecks, the search for the Titanic, etc. A number of these were by Robert Ballard, although some of his work is for adult readers.
Good luck!
Carlym, you could try the 'Dear America' series for girls, and the 'My Name is America' series for boys. They are all journals or diaries about teens during various points in American history. There seems to be a number of them available on BookMooch.
#108: Scholastic Books has a great series - "Scholastic Biographies" - I have ones on Soujourner Truth and Harriet Tubman -- might be too advanced for 1st grade readers, though . . . .
There is also a great kids' book re: Ben Franklin called (I think) MY MOUSE AND ME -- (not exactly a biography -- it pretends that his mouse invented stuff with him, or something like that -- but it incorporates a lot of biographical info.) I've aleady mooched that one forward, but seems like it wld be a good one to look for.
Anyone have a copy of Updike's THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK? and/or the sequel, THE WIDOWS OF EASTWICK? Reading them for a book group in a month or so.
btw, my bookmooch user ID is "mollydog" if someone has them and cld list/reserve them for me.
thanks!
carlym,
That is such a nice idea for you to do that for your Mom's classroom. I have tons of books from when my children were young put away to save, but sometimes I find stray ones and list them since I'm sure that I've saved plenty already. I don't know what I am saving them for actually and I should go through them and try to whittle them down. Anyway, if I come across any that fit what you are looking for, I will let you know. I do remember having some like that but they may be for a little bit older audience.
Thank you for all the suggestions! It seems fairly easy to find ones for older elementary kids, but ones for younger kids are scarce. The schools are nonetheless supposed to teach first graders about famous people (including Ben Franklin and others mentioned) AND teach them about reading biographies.
Anybody want
America America by Ethan Kanin? I have a hardcopy in very good condition. If so, PM me and I'll reserve it for you.
Taken - thanks!Message edited by its author, Feb 25, 2009, 4:07pm.
I am looking to mooch about 50 BM cards and 25 bookmarks. While I realise there are a
lot of people offering them, I thought it would be quicker to ask here instead of looking through each "edition" to find someone who offers both. No hurry, but I do live in NZ.
Thanks!
http://www.bookmooch.com/m/inventory/mon...>116
I'm not shipping anything at the moment because of being broke, but if by some chance you don't find the cards, let me know and I'll send some eventually. Alas, I don't have the bookmarks.
Out of curiosity, what are people actually doing with these bookmooch cards/bookmarks? I never know what to do with them, and hoard them guiltily for no reason at all.
I keep a few in my purse and give them to anyone that might be interested. I also include a few with international and newbie mooches.
118: I keep a small handful in my purse just in case (and they have come in handy, I think I've gotten three or four therapists at work interested, lol). I also include a few in most mooch-packages I send out. I use them for bookmarks (don't have any of the actual bookmarks yet), too, which is again handy because people sometimes ask about the "strange" bookmark. lol
Thanks, vsmith, but someone else had already commented on my profile. I will keep an eye out for you if I need to mooch any more in the future!
>188 I hope to spread the word of BM here in NZ a little bit ;)
I am looking for Shadow Game (GhostWalkers, Book 1) by Christine Feehan
I mooched it an the next two.. but this was a phantom book or something, as it had really been mooched a day ago :(
Any out there??
:)
Does anyone have a copy of Mary Paik Lee's
Quiet odyssey : a Pioneer Korean Woman in America that they would be willing to part with? I have a copy out from the library, but just realized that my math regarding how long I can keep it out (including renewals) and when we're reading it in class don't
quite match up . . .
karenmarie, I'm going to be listing a copy of
Paris To The Moon within the next couple of days -- I'll reserve it for you and drop you a note on your LT profile with the link to the listing. :)
#127 alynnk. Thank you so much! It's the April read and I'll have a chance to get it read in time.
Oh Dear! I just realized I seem to have requested

Anyone interested in the Twilight series? If you want the entire thing and are in the US or Canada I'll refund half your points. The first book does have a book crossing sticker on the inside and they've all been read by a couple of people but are in good reading shape.
>137
I left a message on your profile page--I'd love to have this series.
I think I am too late to get the copy from DevourerOfBooks, (I had this request posted under another section, but didn't have it here, unfortunately, so I missed out... *sigh*) but I'd be happy to negotiate a giving away of # of points for Eclipse in relatively good condition (Just not falling apart). It's the only one is the series I'm missing, and I need it to continue reading the books. I know this is a well sought after book, but I thought I would try my luck...

Macophile, if you don't get it otherwise, leave me a note on my profile and I'll pass it along after I've read it (though it might be a bit of a while).
You guys don't have to pass that one along to me, but if anyone happens to be getting rid of any of the Twilight books, I'm trying to collect them for my sister. She's not a big reader, but has devoured these books! She was surprised how much she enjoyed reading them, and I'm gently pushing more books on her, lol.
Thank you Sararush for helping me get a copy! :D

#159 - Spinifex, I'll be listing
The Man in the Moss in about a month, and I'll put a post it in the book to look you up to see if you still want it.
@165: thank you! That's very nice of you!
I'm still wishing for audios on CD in the mystery or thriller or suspense category. If anyone has any, I would love to mooch them and can also give an extra point if they were too expensive to list for one point.
If anyone can help me by telling me how to do a search for them, please let me know as I can't figure out how to do it. Thanks so much.
>168, If
Kate Atkinson's
Case Histories fits what you're looking for I can list it for you. The packaging is a little thrashed but all the cds are in good shape.
Thanks so much! I sent you a pm.
I should have mentioned above that I don't care about package condition as long as the CDs will play. The are not for gifts or anything like that, we just want to listen to some books on CD on some upcoming long car rides.
If I can get to the library right before a trip then I could borrow one, but I can't always get there and besides, we don't always know ahead of time when we may need to travel.
Janmpb, I was doing a search recently for audio CDs. To find some I just searched for the word 'audio', and limited it to either the title or publisher.
In my experience, a lot of audio book listings have the word 'audio' in one of those listings.
I found a bunch, but it might take you a little longer to narrow the search down to the mystery/suspense/thriller categories.
Thanks, I'll try again. I have not tried for awhile as I got frustrated. I don't think that I was even trying for the category but remember getting very few showing as available and none were on cd, only cassettes.
I am still in my longterm search for the Borders Leatherbound Classics edition of
The Book of the 1001 Nights.
The closest I have come to finding it was on ebay. The guy was selling the 3 volume set for $125. They were only $20 a piece originally.
The cover is black with gold lettering and a lamp in the middle.
PLEASE!!!!! Let there be a homeless copy of this book somewhere!
A girl can dream.
When I search for audio CDs, I just type the title and then "CD" in the search field. It's worked pretty well so far.
Hi Wisewoman. How are ya?
You're right, that works if I think of a title to look for! The thing is that I'm open to most anything that falls into those categories and then I will look at the description and reviews to make sure that it sounds as though it is something that we may like. I'm thinking that I will have to find some titles and then look for the audio cd version. I just feel as though that limits us and we are open to suggestions and not that picky about a title or author. We just want something that is good and that will keep our interest and appeal to all of us, which is most anything in suspense, thriller, or mystery categories. We have listened to lots of them going back many years. We used to drive to visit family in Florida from here in Ohio a few times a year with our three children (all grown up now, as you know) and they would end up getting interested in what we were listening to and stop fighting with each other and stop complaining about being bored and hungry!
BTW, have you seen my son in the Huggies baby wipes commercial? Several people have told us that they have seen it but we haven't seen it yet.
Breaking Dawn will be posted soon. It's been read once.
It's been claimed.

I'd love to mooch this book! I just have to find someone who will angel-mooch and send it to me in Canada?
176/177: I can be the happy medium. She doesn't seem to have listed it yet...
Thanks, infinite! How many more do we need to fill that box? :)
Depends on how tiny the print is. ;)
I would love to mooch Nineteen Minutes, if I could!
>182 listed and reserved for you :)
I'm looking for a readable copy of
The Forgotten Door by
Alexander Key...
Got it!! Thanks!! There are copies available, but either the books are in very sad shape, say they smell badly of ciggy smoke or the people aren't mooching or they haven't logged in for awhile.
Besides, the mooches here are so much nicer!!
Just private PM me here & I'll get back with you... my BM profile is not included in my LT profile.
(I'm paranoid!! "kinda sorta" ok, I'm just a private type person)

I know a bunch of you guys have mentioned that you are looking for books in Charlaine Harris's Southern Vampire series, so before I listed them I wanted to offer them up here.
I have books 1 and 2,
Dead Until Dark and
Living Dead in Dallas, both in mass market paperback format.
Both books are now taken.

185: Interested, if still available?
Thanks so much SunnyLola!
I just finished Books 1-6 of Kelley Armstrong’s
Women of the Otherworld series, but before I add them to my inventory, I thought I’d check to see whether there are other lunatics such as me who like to read a series of books and would be interested in mooching all six. All these books are good reading copies of mass market paperbacks that were previously mooched and have their fair share of spine and cover creases; there are no mold, mildew or weird smells; and, all currently reside in a smoke-free, pet-free household.
These are the editions I have:
http://www.bookmooch.com/detail/04522860... Bitten
http://www.bookmooch.com/detail/04522859... Stolen
http://www.bookmooch.com/detail/05535870... Dime Store Magic
http://www.bookmooch.com/detail/05535870... Industrial Magic
http://www.bookmooch.com/detail/05535870... Haunted
http://www.bookmooch.com/detail/05535881... Broken
I will also be adding:
http://www.bookmooch.com/detail/01560308... The Great Stink
http://www.bookmooch.com/detail/01420040... Lost in a Good Book
http://www.bookmooch.com/detail/01430343... Well of Lost Plots (remainder mark on bottom)
http://www.bookmooch.com/detail/00612332... Heart-Shaped Box (large print edition, bottom front cover is creased.)
http://www.bookmooch.com/detail/00613423... Anansi Boys
If anyone here wants any of these, message me and I’ll list them as reserved for you.

188: I'd love Lost in a Good Book and Well of Lost Plots if no-one else has claimed them. (Sent you a message on BookMooch too.)
