I've never kept track of what I've read, and I don't know why; it's such a good idea!
Since I'd like to start at the beginning of the year (just a harmless little bit of OCD. It's not 24/7, but does occasionally rear it's perfectly-placed head.), I'll post my first choice on or soon after Jan 1st.

I couldn't wait 3 more days, so I'll start tonight:)
My first book will be:
The Secret of Lost Things, be Sheridan Hay.
I'd really like to list all the books I plan to read right upfront, but I just can't seem to commit past the book I'm reading at the moment---my TBR stack is ever-shifting, and my wish lists are ever-growing. Some that I'd LIKE to read are:
The Coffee Trader, by David Liss (I will be reading with the highly-rated book group)
The Gospel of Ruth, by Carolyn Custis James
Ghost Train to the Eastern Star, by Paul Theroux
Book of Air and Shadows, by Michael Gruber
Inkspell, by Cornelia Funke
Inkdeath, by Cornelia Funke
Land of a Thousand Hills, by Rosamond Halsey Carr
There Is No Me Without You, by Melissa Fay Greene
Tipperary: A Novel, by Frank Delaney
Ireland: A Novel, by Frank Delaney
The Invisible War, by Chip Ingram
Man Overboard, by F. Marion Crawford
The Rook, by Steven James
Silent on the Moor, by Deanna Raybourn
Odd Hours,
Brother Odd, and any other Odd Thomas sequels, by Dean Koontz
It's a start....Happy reading to you all; I'll be getting more ideas from everyone's lists, I'm sure.
Good luck with your 50 book challenge!
Your first book looks interesting. Think I'll add it to my wanted-list and might read it this year too :-)
Thanks eaucourante!
If you read it, let me know what you think!
Are you going to read
The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood with the Highly Rated Book Group? (I saw that you read
The Coffee Trader.) I think it starts Monday, so I better get the book!

I think I'm going to sit this one out (although I'm sure I'll lurk...). I have 3 books started, at least one of which I'd like to finish before starting another. I'm also wanting to read Africa-related books for a while, because I'm going to Tanzania in June (I can't wait!), and it's pretty much occupying my thoughts these days. But I hope you all enjoy it:)
#6.
The Glass of Time, by Michael Cox. Good Victorian mystery; "Oh what a tangled web we weave..." sort of stuff. I'll be writing a review in next day or so.
#9. Love, the Words and Inspirations of Mother Teresa
