And here we are again...right before the start of the new year with the aim of reading 50 books in a year. Looking forward to 12.01 when I shall be grab the first book and start reading!

I have decided to start off by trying to clear out some of the Mills and Boons books that I accumulated before moving to the Netherlands.
Not only should they be pretty quick reads but it also allows me to not have to think to much since all my brain power is being used up on assignments for my masters.
The first one I picked up yesterday and finished today was Blind-Date Marriage by Fiona Harper (book 1). Not the most exciting of books but not the worst I have come across either!

Finished Crazy About the Boss by Teresa Southwick (book 2) last night. It was even worse than the first book I read but at least it will clear out some space in the house. Wondering how many of these types of books I will be able to tolerate before having to give in for something a bit more interesting.
Finished Expectant Father by Melinda Curtis (book 3). Got a bit delayed with it because of the flu and lots of deadlines but got there in the end.
Hi, eesti12!
I am sorry that you have had the flu. I hope that you are feeling much better now. :)

Finished The Bride of Montefalco by Rebecca Winters (book 4) late last night/early this morning. I really enjoyed this book as it was exactly the right mix of romance and story for me. :)
Finished Claiming the Cattleman's Heart by Barbara Hannay (book 5) this morning.
Finished To Protect His Own by Brenda Mott (book 6) this morning. Think I shall have to take a break from the Mills & Boon for now but at least I cleared out some room for new books! :o)
After a long break and not very much reading, I finished
Me and Mr. Darcy (book 7). This was a cute read although a bit predictable at times.
I have started on
Suite Francaise which I am already loving!
Finished
Suite Francaise (book 8) this morning. Really loved it but was of course a bit sad that it was an unfinished book.
I have heard really good things about that book. :) Really, there are just too many good books to choose from. :D Have a great weekend!

After another long break from reading, I finished Black Boy by Richard Wright (book 9). I picked this one up as it is on the Yale syllabus for the class 'The American Novel Since 1945'.
The book was interesting and well worth the read but what made it even more interesting was knowing the background of the book.
Finished The Reader this morning by Bernhard Schlink (book 10). I had seen the movie first and wish I had read the book first instead as I think it would have had more impact for me. It was still an interesting read, just a bit less powerful as I knew everything that was about to happen.
Finished
Wise Blood (book 11) this afternoon. This was another book off of the Yale syllabus mentioned above. It was quite an easy ready, however the story seemed to have absolutely no point. Even after the lectures, which did point out some interesting info, I wasn't much impressed.
Finished
The Constant Princess (book 12) this morning. Really enjoyed this book until the end which seemed to just kinda end. After so much detail and information the last couple of chapters didn't seem to match up but still good.
Finished
Lolita (book 13) yesterday morning. This was a book off the Yale syllabus and it took all my effort to finish it. I didn't enjoy the writing style nor the storyline and apart from being controversial I am not quite sure what all the fuss is about - even after three lectures on the book!
Finished
Franny and Zooey (book 20) this morning.
I quite liked this book but I can't quite figure out why!
