I'm going away for about two weeks and lord knows I need to fill an entire suitcase of books. Let me fill you in...I'm going to be in a cabin in central New York in the woods in a cabin. My girlfriend will be there, but she's working too. Basically, I'm reaching out to the group for suggestions to help fill my suitcase of literature!
Thanks guys!

This group seems pretty dormant, but I'm mostly through Charles Fort: The Inventor of the Supernatural and enjoying it muchly.

My current paranormal reading is Mysteries of the Hopewell, a detailed treatment of the Ohio Moundbuilder Indians and the sites as magical/religious centers, and the mathematical and astrological knowledge that went into them. I actually just bought it myself while trapped in the back hills of Ohio! It sort of reminds me of Voyages of the Pyramid Builders - he goes a bit out on a limb in his theories, yeah, and occasionally says something dumb, but he backs it all up with actual, well-documented, researched, analyzed, and organized archeological data.

After that I'm probably going to finally start reading Psychic Discoveries Behind the Iron Curtain - I have a copy in my collection, but based on the cover and back I'd assumed it was just plain bad. But one of my friends is reading it now and claims it's suprisingly good, for what it is, so I shall try it.

Paranormal wise...right now I'm finishing up Gray Zone Wanderers, a book of Norwegian ghost stories, and have started on The Secret Life and Brutal Death of Mamie Thurman. It's more geared toward the history behind one of WV's more famous ghosts, but it does go a bit into the supernatural legends.

On the backburner, I've got Our Haunted Planet by John Keel, and have all intentions of finishing up that one, and starting The Parapsychology Revolution. HPIR has a full schedule coming up, but I'm trying to set aside plenty of time for reading, hehe.

Currently reading The Sion Revelation, about the 8th or 9th book I've read in that ballpark.

Just finished The Men Who Stare At Goats a few weeks back. Significantly different from the film, in a good way.

I'm sure I will always be behind the curve for books in this group, especially since I prefer old, cheap books to new ones. I just started Unexplained! by Jerome Clark. It's from 1993 but I appreciate that it has the references in the marginalia rather than as endnotes.
