Will be curious to see what you think of Revolutionary Road. I just finished it a couple of weeks ago.

Hmm, I've actually really enjoyed everything I've read so far this year, but if I had to pick a favorite it would probably be Ham on Rye.

Yeah, I think I might read Revolutionary Road pretty soon. I recently saw the movie, and really enjoyed it, so hopefully the book will be just as good or better. (I'm sure it will be)

6. In Cold Blood - Truman Capote

Wow, I've been really busy lately, and this book took me way longer than I had anticipated to finish. Hopefully the next one won't take so long to finish.

I see you've already read The Virgin Suicides and have Middlesex planned for this year. I've got the opposite scenario happening :) I loved Middlesex and definitely recommend it. What did you think of Suicides?

Feb 12, 2009, 10:46pm (top)Message 10: EddieWinslow

I really liked the Virgin Suicides. I'm not quite as hyped for Middlesex, just because the synopsis doesn't really strike my interest as much, but I think Eugenides is very good writer, so I'll give it a read anyway.

I'm glad you liked Virgin Suicides, I'm looking forward to it. I think Middlesex is worth a shot. When I first started it, I didn't think too much of it but I completely fell in love with it by the end and didn't want to leave the characters behind.

Hey Eddie, I'll second spacepotatoes on Middlesex. Great writing, great characters. How did you like In Cold Blood?

7. The Rum Diary - Hunter S. Thompson

Feb 16, 2009, 3:51pm (top)Message 14: EddieWinslow

I really liked In Cold Blood, except I think in some parts, Capote repeated himself too much. If I had to hear any more about Perry Smith's troubled past, I think I might have stopped reading. Other than that though, I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed the Dexter novel, but honestly, I think the ending of the first season of the TV show was much better than the ending of this book. Still pretty good though.
