The last lot of books i bought was possibly when i got Necropolis and Bloodlust & Initiation from 'Smiths (which is pretty naff for buying books most of the time) or it could have been when i bought Betrayed, A GaTB and The Twilight Watch. I honestly can't remember which i bought first which is further proof for my addiction. I think in total i bought 7 books last month and i have actually read them all (bar one which im still reading at the moment).

What books have you bought lately? and have you got any books which you bought ages ago and *still* haven't read? (i know i have)

Well I orderd 3 more books of the black dagger brotherhood series the other day off amazon and they should be here by Wednesday :)

As for the books that still haven't been read I'm sooo bad for that. Here's what I do I'll buy a bunch of books all toghether read a few that I want to read the most first and there normally part of a series. So then I'll get addicted to that series and buy all the other books and read them leaving the books I brought with the first batch untouched until I'm done, but by that time I've already found a load of other books I want to read so then read them after. I've had The Book thief, The Time Traveler's Wife and various other books sitting on my shelf for months...

Ah i started reading the Book thief a little while back , got three chapters in put it down one night then picked up a different book the next night and never got back round to reading it *note to self read the book thief*
I have read The Time traveller's wife though and it was awesome so i recommend you read it... as soon as you've finished with your It girl books, the BDB books AND Betrayed hahaha

Oh I will get around to it eventually as soon as i'm done with around 30 more books haha! Or I may go back to it sooner it all depends where my urges take me...

I know its mental!! i keep finding all these wonderful books that i can't find in Waterstones although in general Smiths does fail a *lot* my local branch is tiny and the teen section is pathetic so i have to drive myself either to Stafford or Hanley to get a waterstones *grumbles*

The smiths by me is the same theres only a very small teenage section, the borders one is slightly better although not much but my waterstones is fab it has a fairly large section almost as big as a regular adults

I just got a book I have never heard of until I came to this website. It is The Wind Done Gone by Alice Randall. It is sort of a re-telling of Gone with the Wind but it is told through a young black girl's eyes.

ooo that sounds like a good idea that will depend on the fact i can remember how many books i've bought in a given week hehe - although frankly if i've got any sense (which past experience has shown that i don't) i will refrain from buying *any* more books until i've cleared the backlog of 43 books which are on my To-be-Read list. How long that will take me is anybodies guess..

I bet we'll still have some of those books waiting to be read still when were like 30 Rach coz we'll just keep finding more and more books to buy...ahh its never ending!

Frankly i think the reason i keep buying and reading books is to avoid facing my responsibilities to my schoolwork in case i mess up and disappoint people although its fairly obvious that it will become a self-fulfilling prophecy if i don't do something about it. Dang it i am a daft person. *beats brain* YOU.WILL.WORK.PROPERLY!!!

A few months ago I started counting up the books that I've bought but never read. Totally embarassing! (I found two books that my book group is reading, so that's making the tiniest ding in the backlog.) I've got books everywhere and now I have a Kindle which makes it much too easy to buy more books. But, so far I've been good. I've got one book that I'm "actively" reading and another that I've hardly touched. Then there are the books that I've brought home from the library!!!

Crap! Crap! buttocks!! I failed! I just *had* to wander into 'Smiths at lunch today and what did i do? came out with TWO books!!
ALTHOUGH (here is my awesome excuse) What i bought was Vampire Beach: High Stakes and Hunted by Alex Duval and Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.
I was astonished at the Alex Duval find since Amazon "says" that it isn't out until june!! so when i saw it i just couldn't pass up the opportunity! I know i don't really like the Vampire Beach books but the covers are soo pretty and i wanted it to match :D.
I bought the du Maurier book cos i felt it was something i should probably read at some point during my life. Now i've gotta actually read it lol

Dang it! now i'm on a slippery slope to disaster- i ransacked amazon.co.uk for possibly 6 books off my wishlist (which has 25 books on it) and i got persuaded into trying that free trial of Amazon Prime so my books should be here by TUESDAY!!! *squeals* ooo my addict twitches are gonna come on fast and strong this holiday - i'll be scouring bookstores for Evernight and Stargazer and whatever else books i can think of :D

oh dear... this is *not* good. Also bought THEY SAILED THE SKIES; U.S. Navy Balloons and the Airship program. This was published by the U.S. Naval Institute in Annapolis, Nd.

Kate- Vampire academy is oh so amazing im sure you’ll love it! My bf has read a few Neal Shusterman books and has really enjoyed them im thinking of borrowing one called unwind off him I hear hes a bit like another scott westerfeld.

I haven't read anything by him, just happened to stumble upon it at HPB and thought it looked interesting. If he's anything like Scott Westerfeld, I will definitely like, since he's one of my faves and all :)

I just finished it! So the first 1/3 is a bust and bore city, imo, but then it picks up with the realm stuff and is pretty okay. The last few pages are 'wrap up' and feel a little forced in tying things up nicely, but I guess that's okay.

Now, I'm at the library, which is near my fave store, Half Priced Books(Do you guys have those in England?)... so I don't think I will fare as well as yesterday, even though I'm bringing books back from the library

No we don't have the variety of book shops that you do in America (tisn't fair :( we have addictions too!!) I adore the numerous Borders, Waldenbooks and Booksamillion that i've been to over the years in Florida although i've never found a Half Price books store ... shame really cos then i could have brought back even *more* books than i did :P

I bought Dark Prince by Christine Feehan last week and have already finished the book. Now I'm waiting for Dark Desire to arrive.

Yeah I wish we had more bookstores over here we only have 3 chain stores, borders, waterstones and whsmith then ive just got a few charity shops and second hand shops and thats it :| our book shops are nowhere near as big as yours either snot fair :(

We do have quite a few used stores here. I think HPB is mostly in the midwest and parts of the south(I'm pretty sure Texas has a few), but that is so very sad :( I don't think I'd be able to get as many books as I do if they had to be bought new or offline.

I liked CoB better than i'd thought i would although the plot twist at the end kinda arses up the chemistry between Clary and Jace (IMO) i am gonna read the other two - hopefully with the number of other books that i have to read by the time i want to read City of Glass it will be out over here.

I've had CoB on my shelf for a couple of months now, just haven't had the spark to read it yet.

Bill and Bert's Confessional is a great idea! I think we should re-vamp all threads in BAA make it more fitting to our little cathedral skit. We could have the what are you reading thread and the reading challenge in the BAA meeting room with refreshments such as tea, biscuits, cakes and sandwiches provided by Brenda and at the start of Bill and Berts confessional maybe have a little profile on Bill and Bert such as.

Bill cathedral manager and confessional priest of BAA, despises any form of weakness and as he calls them ‘‘airy fairy stories’’ and wants to turn book addicts into miserable people with no imagination.

Bert, Bills assistant manager and confessional priest in training. Berts a very timid fellow who has been drilled in his training that books are bad and book addicts are highly crazed people. He was there for very frightened of us addicts at first but has recently discovered the pleasures of a good novel and spends a lot of time reading when he should be working to Bills distaste.

Haha we should have one for Brenda, we don’t see much of Brenda what’s she like?

Hmm well Brenda can't actually read as much as she wants to since her eyesight has gone all off-kilter but she does love her audio books. She sympathises with us addicts and is willing to provide all the caffeine we need to keep up our reading habits. She also knows secrets about Bill which she may divulge if properly persuaded *knowing smile*

hmm i think you have redeemed yourself because while buying books is frowned upon, buying them dirt-cheap is actively rewarded ;)
I also fall into this category somewhat since i ordered 2 new books off amazon who decided it wanted to love me again and got the books i really wanted back in stock for £2.99 and £4.94 a piece. Considering how both of them should cost £6.99 each i feel it was worth breaking my amnesty for such bargains which may only be around for a limited time.
They've been dispatched and should hopefully arrive tomorrow or tuesday.

It's been pretty quiet around here for the last couple of months as my fellow Addict-in-Chief has been MIA due to computer malfunctions but I'm hoping she'll make it back here soon.
I read another of Maggie Stiefvater's books last week - Shiver which was fantastic. Have you started the Faerie books yet? are they any good as they might be something I'd fancy taking a look at.

I did sort of acquire 6 new books earlier this month although that was me taking advantage of having £35 worth of amazon gift vouchers - being a student is terrible for your book addiction as you *know* you're not supposed to buy books even if you really want to. :(
But on the bright side not being able to buy new books should help us to reduce those teetering TBR piles all over the place ;)

Ah yes i have several reading lists which i'm supposed to get through this semester but since they consist almost entirely of fusty-looking books on tedious subjects i'm not much inclined to crack on with them. *sigh* it'll come back to haunt me soon enough.

#157 - I'm reading Lament right now and so far it's good. I think Shiver is kinda spoiling it for me because I just loved Shiver and so far this one is just good, but i'm only about 80 pages in so it's bound to get better!

Ah right thanks - hopefully it will work its way up to awesome as I know Maggie is capable of writing brilliantly if Shiver is anything to go by.
