There's a wide variety of beer in America, but that was just a joke. I couldn't think of a good image for a subject like this, and almost used something with the founding fathers. But I thought if I were going to do that, I might as well make a joke of it and use the Sam Adams beer logo.

But if anyone has a suggestion for a good image, I'd like to hear it.

Well, you probably can't get more classically liberal than J.S. Mill, but his picture isn't quite as fun as Sam Adams beer. ;)

Of the American beer I've had, Sam Adams' was the best: not at all bad IMHO.

Rather taciturn lot though, aren't we!

Portland, Oregon is a microbrewery hot spot. We are awash in good beers made here and elsewhere in the PNW.

Alaskan Summer Ale is a family favorite. One of us is loves Sam Adams Boston Lager. And, seasonal beers are appreciated like Ebenezer Ale from Bridgeport Brewing here in Portland.

Pah only people who try to be couth but fail miserably would say that American beers are "second to worst". I'm a European and at least three of my all-time favorite drinks are us - rogue, Sam Adams winter lager and any miller :P

if you hate honey or light-toned beers then you'll hate us beer but if you know how to mix and match - well you'll be in heaven. Not every drink has to be heavy set Belgian or British IPA.

I'm just posting so we can defend the bond - liberals and beer!

Bud's "American Lager" can't hold a candle to Yuengling.

If you find yourself in Pennsylvania, order it by name: not Yuengling, but "Lager."

And it's America's oldest brewery.
