It didn't look like anyone had posted this info yet, but apologies if I just missed it:

The next book will be coming out in November and will be called A Gathering Storm.

The scuttlebutt is that Jordan left so much material that there will be one more after this.

Actually if you go to Brandon Sanderson's site you'll see he is splitting the 'final' book into three and is hoping to have each 3rd ready in consecutive Novembers. We can only hope.

Don't you think that once the final three books are out, and the sales start being totaled in November of of 2011, we might here some scuttlebutt on the other two prequels that were once announced? The Novellas like New Spring.

Sanderson writes on his blog that he and Harriet are apparently not keen on doing the other prequels and the outrigger novels (that center in Seanchan).
Check it out on his blog here: http://www.brandonsanderson.com/faq/section/3/Wheel-Of-Time-FAQ

With such a rich world, and if TOR doesn't have something as good that replaces it once we finish the series, can't you forsee someone stepping in and doing more with it.

Is Middle Earth finished yet? (Oops, no...)

I am not against this BTW, I would like to have more. I would like to have some novels on Artur Hawkwing, etc.. But that is just me.

First things first, let's hope Sanderson does a good job, before worrying about anything after.

After 20 years I would settle for
"Rand walked into Tarmon Gaidon. He Saw the evil, pulled his sword and they mutually killed one another."

Well not really...

No, you should ask me for more, after it is three books. This year a hardback at $27.99, next year maybe the same, and by 2011 28.99. Almost $90 before we are done.
