I just finished Shaman's Crossing by Robin Hobb, I usually don't like books written in first person, but I really enjoyed this one. I think I will hunt for the second book in this series.

I just started Daemons are forever by Simon Green and just finished the third Dresden Files book. I just saw Jim Butcher at a convention this weekend, so now I want to keep reading that series -- just my luck that #4 and #5 are still checked out at the library..... argh...

Just finished The Tattooed Map. I'm actually not sure how to categorize this book.

I have just reread The Lies of Locke Lamora which I suggested for my reading group which is tonight. I am taking a tin hat and a flak jacket though as I fully expect everyone else to hate it. I enjoyed rereading it though I did skip some of the descriptions which are a bit long.
Thank goodness for FantasyFans - at least it makes me feel that I am not the only person on the planet who reads fantasy :)

I'm just rereading The Night World series by Lisa Jane Smith. It's about the Night People - vapires, witches, shapeshifters etc - falling in love with the Day People - humans -even though it is against their most sacred law, which is punishable by death for all people involved.

@4 infjsarah, the sequel, Red Seas Under Red Skies, is just as good. I'm eagerly awaiting the next volume now but will have to wait over a year for the paperback edition.

>2 After over a year's break between books four and five I'm finding the Dresden series totally impossible to stop reading! I'm currently on White Night and just realized that there are only two more Dresden novels out after this one. What will I do?!

Seems like Locke Lamora is in fashion this week. I'm halfway through Red Seas under Red Skies.

I'm working my way through Robin Hobb's Liveship Traders series. I'm on the second book, Mad Ship. These are the first books I've read by Hobb. It took a little while to get into the first one, but I enjoyed it enough to keep going.

It seems my taste is not totally bad as 5/8 people at the group enjoyed Locke Lamora. What a pleasant surprise:)
And the leader enjoyed it so much he's asking for the new book for Christmas.

I still can't get over my Terry Pratchett kick, and there are so many new books I also want to read! How come I'm back to reading Going Postal AGAIN when I've been waiting for Naamah's Kiss for a seriously long time? I'm also trying to get myself to read one of Pico Iyer's books. It looks really good. I swear, when I finish this Discworld book, I WILL read something else.

#19 Edgwood - I loved that book.

I am catching up on a book I (somehow) missed - Dragonstar by Barbara Hambly.

Jun 27, 2009, 1:51pm (top)Message 22: solidus

Midnight Tides by Steven Erikson and I'm gonna read a new one called A Darkness Forged In Fire by Chris Evans, don't know if it's any good though...
