The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio: How My Mother Raised 10 Kids on 25 Words or Less by Terry Ryan is obviously set in Ohio. It's a sweet memoir written by the daughter set in the 50's.

If you wanted to take a turn at short stories there's always Winesburg, Ohio.

For some more macabre non-fiction - Torso: The Story of Eliot Ness and the Search for a Psychopathic Killer by Steven Nickel. It's a good history of Cleveland and you do get the non-Untouchables version of Ness although still written by author that's clearly a fan.

This isn't exactly an Ohio book, but much of it is set there. Scott Russell Sanders' Wilderness plots is a series of short sketches about the settling of the Midwest. They're wonderful.
