According to today's (7/2) Reader, the Burnham Park store at 828 S. Wabash will be closing by the end of summer, and is currently running a 50%-off-everything sale.

The same article said the Lincoln Ave. store is also possibly closing.

Yikes! I just recommended it on another thread. The Lincoln Ave. one is great - I hope it doesn't close.

I spent a sad, if profitable, afternoon yesterday, buying books at Powell's Wabash Avenue store and Prairie Avenue Bookshop, both of which will be no more, as of tomorrow.

(Powell's Lincoln Avenue store, they tell me, will be open until the building sells. In this market, who knows how long that will be?)
