Earlier today, via Twitter, I heard from Chris at http://chris-book-a-rama.blogspot.com/ - the entire contents of her blog was being reproduced at another site without her consent. And several other bloggers also are having their content ripped off, apparently via RSS feed, so that whenever they post new content, it is being ripped off in real time.

This is the first instance I have heard of where blog content is being stolen automatically via feeds, so I wanted to share this with the book blogging community here.

I don't want to reward the thieving website with more traffic, so I'll not include that URL here, but if you want to send a note of support to Chris, or advice on what she can do, drop by her blog post to comment here.

As Chris and the others share how they manage to get out of this mess, I’ll share or link to it at my blog here as well. This is something that hopefully will not catch on.

I appreciate your not wanting to give the site more traffic, but, frankly, I'd rather like to know who is doing it, so I can watch out for them.

The site that is stealing from multiple blogs is: bookfreak. starreviews. info

There is also a thread going on over at bookblog.ning.com discussing this, in the Blogging Tips group. Trish Collins in that thread provides two useful links to Lorelle at Wordpress on dealing with content theft: here and here.

Okay, now I am highly amused. Why? Because if you look at that site, their use of feeds is causing all the posts about how they are ripping people off to appear on their site!
