Yes, I got the Duchess of Death also... I found it absolutely facinating. I finished reading it this morning, and around 3:00 my grandmother had stopped by, found it, and started reading it aloud -- to me! Even though I had just finished it, it was worth listening to again. My mom wants to borrow it after grandma's done. I have a feeling that I will not see this book again for some time. All I can say is they had better not lose it!

Jul 21, 2009, 10:44pm (top)Message 21: auntmarge64

Nope. I've been watching this thread hoping someone would say they had.

I received Labor Day on Tuesday, July 21, in Portland, OR. Don't have the other details on me right now, but i'll update this post when I get home.

Jul 22, 2009, 3:37pm (top)Message 25: bookbeat

I haven't received Sworn To Silence yet, either. I've only won a few books, but I received those pretty quickly once I'd been notified I'd won.

Jul 22, 2009, 3:41pm (top)Message 26: readafew

out of the 10 books I've won, I think the average time to receive them was around 4-5 weeks, one took almost 3 months, some people have been lucky and received them in 2-3 days, other 5-6 MONTHS, no need to worry until around week 6 unless others have already been getting the book.

Jul 22, 2009, 4:49pm (top)Message 27: NeverStopTrying

Thanks. Guidelines make me happy as I can then schedule my worrying appropriately. ;-) This will be my first ER.

I just received Sandman Slim today. It came UPS, no inserts. But it came SUPER damaged! Practically bent in half and sliced in the middle! I don't think it's even read-able! What should I do? It came free, so I feel funny trying to return it, but it's really bad.

It's going to be hard for me to read this one... I feel as though I was duped because the description of the book in the Early Reviewers listing is nothing like the 'true' content of the book.

#46 - I agree with you about the description of the book. I would not have requested Only You Can Be You if the description had been more accurate. I don't know when I'll get around to reading it.

51> it seems to have been slowly sent out and people have been receiving it over quite a long time frame. Not saying you shouldn't worry but don't give up hope yet, people have been getting copies this week.

I haven't gotten Sworn to Silence yet, either. But I'm at an FPO address, so books usually take a little longer to reach me. I hope this one makes it - it looks good.

Aug 7, 2009, 6:59am (top)Message 58: rainbowdarling

Sworn to Silence got to me yesterday in Cleveland-ish, Ohio. Looks like they're still coming!

Aug 7, 2009, 8:08am (top)Message 59: slstringfellow

I received it- my first book ever! But my page still says that I have not been "awarded" any books- what should I do.

Aug 10, 2009, 1:19am (top)Message 60: whitetara

I take it that since no one has mentioned Daughter of Kura, that no one has received it yet? I haven't gotten my copy yet but I'll keep checking back here.

Got this just moments ago: Short Girls by Bich Minh Nguyen
Date: Aug. 12, 2009
Shipping Method: FedEx
Shipped from: New York, NY
Location Received: Massachusetts
Packaging: Bubble mailer

I thought this was interesting: apparently FedEx has to rent vans from Budget. Does this mean a recovering economy or are FedEx's trucks in a miserable state of repair?

Aug 12, 2009, 7:21pm (top)Message 63: bookoholic13

#62

Great! I've been waiting for this one. Now to stop looking for FedEx-truck and instead scanning for Budget-van! :)

I never received Dreaming in French; I assume that since others got theirs in july and aug, i probably never will get it. Will it stay forever as an unreviewed book on my account?
