This was a book I read about 15 years ago. It was set in the future and a flu virus was about the only illness that couldn't be controlled because it mutates. I think it was set around Oxford, UK and contained a time travel element where scientists went back in time to investigate the plague. Can't remember the title or the author. Does anyone recognise it. It was general fiction rather than sci fi in my local library.
