Here is the link to the new group for Grave Goods.

Several of us have been following the adventures of Adelia that we started in Mistress of the Art of Death. This is book #3.

The more the merrier!

When exactly is 'early fall'?

Sep 8, 2009, 4:23pm (top)Message 3: cyderry

Right now!

We (those of us who started with Mistress of the Art of Death and who have read A Serpent's Tale)are trying to squeeze this in before the regular Highly Rated Book Group read of A Separate Country. Our timetable is Sept 7 - October 10th.

"Early Fall" is September in most of the Northern hemisphere; March in most of the Southern Hemisphere.

Surely it would be better to label the group read as 'Sep-Oct 09' then? March in Southern Australia is usually very hot, the only leaves falling are dead ones (from drought). And in northern Australia, March is the end of the 'wet' season. As part of the World Wide Web, LT has members globally, not just in the Northern hemisphere ;P

OK....where was it announced that the HRBG would be doing Separate Country and when does it start? There seem to be several different subgroups spinning around here, and not everyone is getting the word. I can't star a thread if it doesn't exist...

To digfish_books:

My designating March as the start of the "Fall" was based on having lived in Tonga. Iʻve never lived in Australia, and all I knew about the climate there was that Australians resident in Tonga who returned from a visit to their home country often complained about the cold there, if they had been there in late fall or early winter. I was only vaguely aware of "The Wet", as Nevil Shuteʻs novel title calls it, as a season.

Tongans didnʻt usually speak of "fall/ aka autumn" or spring, only of summer and winter.

>6 Tutu, we have not made an official announcement yet - but the next Group Read will be A Separate Country when Vintage_Books feels able to continue after the birth of her baby.

Meanwhile, do your own thing!

Thanks TT...I've marching right along, but behind on threads while we were in Europe for a couple weeks (sad excuse I know.) I'll be on the lookout.
