Since today is October 1st!!
I got caught in a newbie's scam (very rare, but it happens) and had requested two books so a friend could finish the series...
and since it is October, it is even more appropriate that I make this request:
Anybody have an unwanted copy of
A Quick Bite and/or
Tall, Dark and Hungry by Lynsay Sands that they no longer want & will be willing to send (for points, of course) so someone can complete her series?? PM me, if you can help! Thanks!!
I have no points at the moment, but if someone has any of these I think I can offer up some highly wishlisted books I've been teetering on the fence about listing and get points to mooch these HARDCOVER edition books.
Melusine,
The Virtu,
The Mirador or
Corambis by
Sarah Monette.
Smoke and Shadows or
Smoke and Mirrors by Tanya Huff.
Blood Rites or
Backup by
Jim Butcher.
These are all books I've read and really want to collect them in hardcover. I'm actually not too picky about the condition, so long as they're not falling apart.

>2 I suppose C/W MARS would frown on your keeping one of their copies. :) Anyhow, if you're
really not picky about condition . . . I mooched a hardcover copy of
Smoke and Mirrors about six months ago. If there had been condition notes I probably wouldn't have, because it's ex-library due to water damage, so most of the pages are wavy. They seem to have dried it out well enough that mold isn't an issue, and everything else does appear to be intact. There are even those tiny metal strips that helpfully set off security alarms at stores and other libraries! I'm just not that attached to it.
To be honest, though, my ability to mail things the next month or two is kind of up in the air.
Wavy pages don't bother me so long as they're legible and turn. If I don't find one in the meantime I'd be happy to mooch your copy of
Smoke and Mirrors. Just let me know when you can send it. Thanks!
You're right, C/W Mars might get a little peeved if I started keeping the books I like LOL. Right now they're my best friend so I have to be nice.

I have a stack that I haven't gotten around to listing on Bookmooch yet, but I'd be happy to send if anyone here wants them. Most are in good to very good condition. Most YA/MG.
Paperbacks:
Dune - this one's a little worn and has a stain on the edge of about 100 pages. I have no idea what the stain is, but I don't think it's hazard/toxic/gross.
A Drink before the War 2 copies (Ok, nobody asked, but I have to explain how I ended up with 2 copies. My husband goes with me to library book sales, and he gets bored, so I told him to look for Dennis Lehane books for janmpb. He's so happy when he finds one, that I don't have the heart to tell him that she's not looking for them anymore.)

The 911 ReportThe Gates of HellHardcovers with jackets - almost new looking

I'm still in search of many books in the followings series for my mom, originally published by Guideposts:
Home to Heather Creek series by various authors, the first one in the series that I need is
Before the Dawn by Carolyne Aarsen. I've found the second book in this series.
Grace Chapel Inn Series by various authors. I've got the first one and a few others, but there are well over 40 out there somewhere!
Mystery and the Minister's Wife series by various authors. I have the first two in the series.
Thank you!
I have a copy of "Gardner's Art through the Ages: The Western Perspective, Volume I" that is in like new condition except for one drawback (which might mean no-one will want it, but I thought I would offer it as the seller has sent me a replacement and it is a 90-95% perfect book) This copy is missing p. 96-128, and the pages 129-159 are repeated. If anyone wants it let me know. :)

Instead of searching online forever, I figured I might have better luck asking BookMoochers. Any Harlequin/etc fans out there: Can you suggest any of those books that have a more... naughty... feel to them? I love Harlequins but most of the ones I've read are too romantic/mushy for me. I like the... well, more toward erotica. Anyone have any suggestions?
10: I was looking for something similar earlier this month, Heather :) I mooched
Fanny by Erica Jong and I see there are a few other copies available on BM at the moment. I'm still waiting for it, but from reviews it seemed like it be quite fun, and I've just finished
Fear of Flying which I really liked.
You could try the Beauty trilogy by
Anne Rice. They're kind of a naughty version of Sleeping Beauty - lots of lots of different stuff going on. I have all three books and if you're interested, I'd be willing to put them up on BM for you. They're in near perfect condition and are the hardcover versions of the books.
Im not particularly a Harlequin fan, but I do have a large box that was given to me to post. I've never read any of them, but I'll pull a few to see if I can find some naughtier books for you.
Edit: I know i have one called
Sin Seer by Andrew Shaw. Its not Harlequin but sounds pretty racy (and looks so too by the cover).
Priority Male by Susan Kearney also looks kinda like what your looking for. Its hard to pick books that you haven't read before, lol.

I had suspected that my adult nephew had forgotten how to read, but i just found out that he has gotten into the Dexter books by Jeff Lindsay. He's read the last two, i'd love to get him the first two but they are heavily wishlisted. If anyone has readable copies and would consider listing them, I'd be very grateful. Bonus points could be arranged *nudge nudge wink wink*.
The books are:
Darkly Dreaming Dexter
http://bookmooch.com/detail/0307277887and
Dearly Devoted Dexter
http://bookmooch.com/detail/14000959217 > I don't have any point yet, but if you are willing to send The Janson Directive, I would greatly appreciate. My BM name is qforce.
I have a book called
Destiny by
Sally Beauman that I was going to put on BookMooch. It's a really racy romance & I think I read somewhere she used to write Harlequins. I know she got an astronomical advance for this book - kind of like Audrey Neffinger or whatever her name is, got for the book she wrote after
The Time Traveler's Wife and I have to say,
Beauman earned it. It's exciting, racy, romantic - the perfect "get away from it all" book.
Beauman's Dark Angel is pretty racy too, and there's usually a copy or two on BookMooch. Good luck with your search & have fun reading the results!!! :)

@ #10 - i dont read a lot of harlequin but I think the ones labeled as Blaze are generally more racy. I downloaded a free one on the kindle, but i think they probably offer them free to other book readers, or just loading to your computer from their website.
If anyone happens upon
Outlander please let me know... been dying to get into this series!
I'm currently on a search for
City of Illusions and The Word for World is Forest by Ursula K. Le Guin. I'm not too particular about condition or edition so please, if you have a copy you're willing to part with, let me know!
>20
I don't have a copy per se, but I did manage to read it by placing a hold on it at the public library. Have you tried doing the same?
Yes I've searched but there are 13 people on the waitlist in front of me. :/
Ah. I only had 5. (Then again, a city as huge as the one I live in kinda needs an equally huge public library system. Or three systems, but New York likes being an exception.)
Does anyone has an unwanted copy of
this edition of Shopaholic Ties The Knot? Please, let me know :)
Joojanah I have a copy of that edition, front cover corners are a little dogeared but otherwise good condition. If you want it let me know and I will list it and reserve it in your name
>25: Just dropping another note to say thank you!
27: Yes, please! My bookmooch name is joojanah. Thank you so much!

Mystery and the Minister's Wife
Tales from Grace Chapel Inn
Home to Heather Creek
Please let me know if you have any to offer. Thanks a million.
My points are burning a hole in my pocket! :)
These are my most wanted books right now if anyone has any and is willing to part with them...
I am looking for Ellen Datlow Year's Best Fantasy and Horror. I need volumes 2,4,9,12,16 and 21 in the large quality paperback.
I also need Andrew Lang Fairy books. I only have pink and yellow and blue. I don't care if they are paperback or hardcovers.
Here are a few others I am looking for in hardcover...
The Amorous Umbrella by Marvin Kaye
The Incredible Umbrella by Marvin Kaye
The Annotated Dracula by Bram Stoker
The Annotated Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
The Story of a Marriage - Andrew Sean Greer
The Artful Dodger - Nick Bantock
The Court of The Air - Stephen Hunt
Freedom & Necessity - Steve Brust and Emma Bull
The Year of Disappearances - Susan Hubbard
I will take any or all of these books if you are able to find them or anyone else has them available.
Thanks again!
Jenn
It'a a magazine, not a book, but does anyone have the June 2009 edition of Scientific American--the one with the article "The Taming of the Cat" ? These aren't ever on the newstands here....I have plenty of points so might as well try my luck
Thanks
Carol
Does anybody have a copy of Blue Moon by Alyson Noel they'd like to part with?
I have a copy Sukisue7 but I haven't yet read it. If no one else has a copy for you, and you aren't in a hurry, I can move it to the top of my TBR pile and reserve it for you when I am done. :)
