Your turn.

Ah. A biography of Oscar Robertson?

ETA: I happened to notice that the title and author appear in the list of touchstones at the right, even though they have not appeared in the messages. Thrin, did you do something to make that happen?

Message edited by its author, Oct 8, 2009, 8:50am.

Oct 8, 2009, 6:33pm (top)Message 28: Thrin

Just awake so a bit groggy, but do I assume you've guessed The Big O by Declan Burke Jim53? Very strange about touchstones...... I didn't do anything to make that happen. Do you think Touchstones itself has decided to join the game?

Anyway it's your win and your turn J53.

And who is Oscar Robertson?

Message edited by its author, Oct 8, 2009, 6:36pm.

Oct 8, 2009, 10:27pm (top)Message 29: Jim53

Oscar Robertson was a basketball player, one of the all-time greats. His nickname was "The Big O."

Since Touchstones hasn't stepped forward to claim the victory and offer a new puzzle, I guess I will.

Curtain: Poirot's Last Case by Agatha Christie?

Oct 23, 2009, 4:57pm (top)Message 223: rolandperkins

Only thing wrong with Christieʻs C: P L C as the solution is that it covers words 3-6, but not 1-2.

And a possible minor thing: I canʻt find the title in "Search", but that may be the fault of this keyboard, and because it has an apostrophe. Iʻve been told that apostrophes by me appear on other peopleʻs screens as some weird rectangular symbol. In "Search" there were two that I couldnʻt find -- as "Authors" -- and both of them had apostrophes in the surname: The great Sean OʻCsey, and the great (?)* Edwin OʻConnor. But I can get to them through a title of theirs and then clicking on the name just
below the title. Anyone know if all this is just a peculiarity of my keyboard?

* I may be stretching a point here.
