Article from Mother Jones:

I can't seem to get the "artist's" website to open up so that I can see the painting better, but you can get the idea.

Here's the link to a larger version of the painting with rollover descriptions... but it won't open either. LOL

Bit offended I'm not in there. There's a nice little spot just by JC's left foot where I think I'd fit a treat!

ETA - Has it occurred to you there may be a higher power stopping you from opening or enlarging it just so's we can mock it?

-3 Naw, the site that exists specifically to mock it is working fine!

Um . . . just a minute . . . . Soldier, sailor, farmer, cop . . . so it's okay to be one of the Village People, then?

what do you thing Jefferson, Paine, Douglas, Hamilton and Franklin are doing behind Jesus? Are they about to jump Jesus?

"It's not important that he (Paine) was not a Christian. God often uses good men to fulfill his purposes."

Did that include writing "The Age of Reason" I wonder?

Also the artist seems to have confused symbolism with cramming in superficial and inconsistent historial and cultural references.

It's a wonder he didn't add Hitler in there giving Satan a back rub and call it symbolism.

Wow, I didn't even realise Jesus was an American. I always thought he was British. Some fools apparently think he was some kind of Arab, but this painting will put them right.

He's got that tree on his chest. Doesn't that mean he's Elvish?

There's a guy works down the chip shop swears he's Elvish.
