CJ Cherryh wrote a whole story wave without a shore I think, where the aliens only have attributes like above, not names.

There's a lot of fantasy names that get very strange with odd ' and . appearing in them.

Speaking of names anyone know where Kincaid comes from? It's appeared as a character name in a few unrelated books now, so I assume there's a real reference somewhere - normally a not bad, but not good kind of powerfull guardian type person.

I am currently reading Science Fair by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson to my kids. The names are horrible for read-aloud:
Prmkt
Vrsk
Grdankl
Dmrtsi

These characters are from the country Krpshtskan, and speak in Krpsht. Second-grade boy thinks this is *hilarious*.
