1PitoucatHas anyone catalogued Kerouac's library? If not, I'd be keen to make a start. I have lists of books in his library and also photos of him in front of his bookcases, where many titles can be read. Anyone interested in assisting? 3jbd1Where do you have the lists and/or photographs from? Depending on that, we may need to ask permission for them. 8benjclarkDo you have a catalog to work from? It seems there are clues scattered about the internet, but not a solid catalog. Once a good catalog is available, it's usually easy to get volunteers to divvy up the work and get it entered. http://www.flickr.com/photos/wltarot/1360187249/ http://www.novelbookratings.com/search.php?view=detail&ASIN=B00540CBVC 9PitoucatThanks for the links - I'd not seen the first before. I have several photos showing Kerouac's bookshelves, like this one: http://www.flickr.com/photos/29873672@N02/3354491249/ from which titles can be read. Also, a published list of his library. Neither may be complete, but provide a good start. 10Katya0133>9. If we punched up the contrast in that photo, we could probably make out even more of the titles. 11Katya0133>4. "The lists were published in the magazine Kerouac Quarterly some time ago." Do you know which volume and issue? 12PitoucatThe Kerouac Quarterly, Volume 2, Number 1 (1998), pages 66-68, lists 84 books and magazines, an "Inventory of books from the personal collection of Jack Kerouac." John Sampas, executor to the estate of Jack Kerouac is credited "for his assistance in supplying us with this information." From the five photographs of Kerouac's bookshelves some 240 books and magazines can be seen, of which I have so far managed to identify about 120. | AboutThis topic is not marked as primarily about any work, author or other topic.
